Homemade bakes, cakes, vegan ice cream, coffee, milkshakes, soft/alcoholic drinks & cocktails served all day Leanne and Ben have been creating and serving food in and around Tavistock since the lockdowns allowed us to. We have focused on affordable, tasty and interesting food, including street food at the Stannary Brewery, a bistro style pop-up at Lemon Grove Café, the Enchanted Woods outdoor feasts with food cooked in a homemade wood-fired kitchen, to running The Leaping Salmon in Horrabridge for over three years. We love working together and it shows. Our ethos is simple, we serve what we love, how we believe it should be served. We’ve built a great team of local heroes to help us, and are lucky enough to have a lot of local regulars who come just to find out what we’re cooking up next. Taking on Eastgate Brasserie is a big step for us. We are investing in what we believe to be a fabulous venue, with huge potential, right in the heart of Tavistock. With a clean and simple interior and a beautiful courtyard on the river, we hope to offer something a little different in this wonderful town of ours. Come and join our journey

Fancy a Friday night feast with a little taste of Bavaria?

On Friday 2nd October from 6pm, we’re bringing Oktoberfest to Eastgate.

For £35 per person, you’ll get a German l***r on arrival, followed by a proper Bavarian feast of:

Beer-braised pork & bratwurst
Creamy mashed potatoes
Braised red cabbage
Sauerkraut
Pretzel & mustard

And to finish, apple strudel with custard.

Summer might be over, but that doesn’t mean our feast nights are! We’re taking a break from the BBQ for the time being and bringing you some seriously delicious autumn feasts instead.

Gather your friends, grab a table and come and enjoy a big plate of comfort food, cold German l***r and a proper Friday night at Eastgate.

Our next Eastgate Feast Night is OKTOBERFEST theme on Friday 2nd October from 6pm.

Summer is over, which means our feast nights won’t be on the BBQ for the time being… but they’ll be every bit as delicious.

We’re bringing a little taste of Bavaria to Eastgate with a hearty feast, German l***r and all the autumn vibes.

For £35 per person, you’ll get:

A German l***r on arrival

A hearty Bavarian feast of beer-braised pork & bratwurst with creamy mashed potatoes, braised red cabbage, sauerkraut, pretzel & mustard

Followed by apple strudel & custard

It’s going to be a proper Friday night feast, so gather your friends, come hungry and join us for Oktoberfest at Eastgate.

This week’s cheesecake is bringing some sunshine to your life. Our delicious orange cheesecake has a gluten-free ginger biscuit base, a creamy orange cream cheese filling and is finished with a sprinkle of fresh orange zest.

Our new all day brunch menu has become very popular, and we can see why. Beautifully fluffy but toasted brioche doorsteps, made by Kings Bakery, topped with all sorts of delicious things.

Fancy a traditional full English? We’ve got you covered.

Our version of eggs Benedict, with smoked salmon, scrambled egg, hollandaise and chives? Absolutely.

Or how about Cajun spiced chicken with rocket and spicy mayo, roast beef with chimichurri, or bacon, blueberries, maple syrup and melted butter for something a little sweeter?

We’ve got sausage, blue cheese and balsamic, Welsh rarebit, mushrooms with cream, tarragon and garlic, and plenty more to choose from.

There are other bread options available, plus delicious choices for our gluten-free and vegan customers, so there’s something for everyone.

Brunch is served 9am–3pm today, Saturday, so come and make a proper morning of it. Coffee, good food and a riverside setting. What more could you want?

How do you fancy a bowl of comfort?

Our Harissa chicken, chorizo, tomato and cream sauce with pappardelle pasta is one of our current specials, and it’s the perfect kind of Friday night food. Rich, warming and seriously comforting.

Couple that with one of our cocktails and you’ve got Friday evening sorted.

And because it’s Friday, our cocktails are 2 for £15 between 4–8pm.

Our Blackberry & Sloe Gin Cheesecake has a creamy blackberry and sloe gin filling, a buttery gluten free biscuit base and that gorgeous deep purple colour that feels just right as we start leaning into autumn.
