Wednesdays “HOT POTATO OF THE WEEK”

This afternoon will be be an historic meeting of minds at allstars bar… myself and James like to play each other at pool after work and have a couple of refreshments , these matches often get very serious with certain people claiming of dark arts being used… we used to play at Bar 61 but that has shut so we are heading to new pastures… These games are called:-

Grandson v Grandad
England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 v Turkey 🇹🇷
The spud shack v The hotdog man

Today’s thoughts:-

Renting v Mortgage’s

I was watching a few social media videos about why people tend to prefer mortgages rather than renting but the downside was having your money tied into bricks and mortar. Plus you’d only see the benefits when your flip houses or retire and downsize. Renting has benefits of being able to move more freely and any household repairs becomes the landlords “problem”

What’s everyone’s thoughts? I’m sat on the fence on this one because I see the benefits of both sides whilst having a mortgage and feeling a little bit “meh” thinking I’ll be paying this off till I’m 70 odd! 🤷🏽‍♂️

(I fully understand we all need somewhere to live though)

This was why my “cash” v “cashless” thoughts came up earlier, whilst waiting for the bank to open to deposit cash….

I thought I’d test out the new jet wash’s at the texaco garage on Wellington road. They have electronic payments values of £4, £6 and £8. I went for the £6 to start off with but then had to top up another £4 due to me washing the dirt off my van and the brush then running out of time. As a former valeter (que the hate comments for the scratchy brush) I was very impressed with the out come. Yes I should of just done the £8 to start but it’s all cleaned up (minus the wheels) I was really impressed with it 🤩

They have 3 bays, 2 undercover so you could take your own valeting stuff and do wheels and windows.

No paintwork was harmed in this process 🤥

What’s everyone’s opinions on cash? As a business it would be easier to go cashless, no banking, no change, everything would be electronic and easier for myself but… I am selling out to the big boys and being a sheep 🐑 What would my older customers do who always use cash! Can a 1 man and 1 women team make a huge difference in the scheme of things by “keeping cash alive”

Lots of pro’s and con’s…
