The Junction

With uninterrupted views across the bay as far as the eye can see – the famous Mumbles Head and lighthouse in one direction and Swansea docks and marina in the other, this is the ideal location to stop for a coffee, enjoy a leisurely lunch or book a party for whatever the celebration. This family run café was lovingly and painstakingly restored in 2001 and won many awards for its design. In 2008,

the café had a freshen up and now the interior is beachy and light with whitewashed rough sawn planking cladding the walls along with our painted recycled tables and chairs etc.. Converted from derelict, this Grade II Listed Building was once the generating station for the world famous Mumbles Train (the first passenger railway service in the world), and now offers something for everyone. Children and families can enjoy the water fountains at the lido, the beach and the park. The lido has full time life guards during the summer and is safe haven for children of all ages. Take advantage of our beachside kiosk – the junction BOX for all of your beaching needs. We sell fresh sandwiches, rolls, local pasties, buckets and spades, joe’s ice cream and the mandatory chips – everything you need for a day out at the beach.
