Situated in the picturesque village of Upper Cwmtwrch, at the foot of the Blackmountains, just 15 minutes drive from Swansea and the M4 motorway. We offer a warm and friendly welcome, home cooked food prepared using local produce, all served with a smile. Evening meals are available 7 days a week including our chefs specials board. Our Sunday lunch carvery is highly recommended, but it is wise to

book as we get very busy. The pub has a very cosy atmosphere all year round but especially in the winter with our log fire burning away. At the rear of the pub we have a large beer garden overlooking the river Twrch. Thanks for visiting

Job Vacancy ⭐ Kitchen Assistant

We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our small, friendly team. You’ll be the engine room of our kitchen, ensuring our chefs have everything they need to serve up the quality pub classics in a fast-paced, traditional setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Prep: Assisting chefs with prep for daily specials and traditional pub menus (e.g., prepping veg, salads, and chips)

Pot Wash: Managing the dishwasher and hand-washing large pots and pans to keep the kitchen moving during peak service.

Service Support: Plate-up assistance and ensuring garnishes are ready for the pass.

Kitchen Hygiene: Maintaining a clean and safe workspace, including deep-cleaning stations and sweeping/mopping at the end of the shift.

Deliveries: Helping to unload and rotate stock.

What We’re Looking For:
A "can-do" attitude and the ability to stay calm when the pub gets busy.

Reliability: We’re a local hub, and the team counts on each other.

Flexibility to work evenings and weekends (including Bank Holidays).

Prior experience is great, but a willingness to learn is more important.
