The business first set up in The Mumbles in 1936 by the Macari family which i am pleased to say is still own by the Macari family 4 generations down the line. It's famous for its homemade ice cream which is also the recipe from 1936 which as i am sure most people will agree is absolutely mouth watering. Forte's had a few Cafe's in The Mumbles, most people remember the Cafe in Oystermouth Square an

d the one opposite the Tivoli but sadly only one remains now which is located right at the end of the Mumbles Road overlooking Limeslade Bay. Forte's now offer a delicious food menu varying from homemade Italian Specialties to mega English Breakfasts and then beautiful desserts.

🍦 Opening Hours Update for Tomorrow 🍦

Due to the Ironman event and the associated road closures, Fortes will be open from 12:00pm to 6:30pm tomorrow.

We’d like to wish all the incredible competitors the very best of luck, have an amazing race, and we hope to see you afterwards for a well earned ice cream! 🍨💪

UPDATE - ELECTRIC IS BACK ON!! 🙌🙌

⚠️ ⚠️Due to a power outage affecting the whole of Limeslade, we are currently without electricity and are temporarily unable to operate as normal.

We are hoping to be back up and running by 11:30am and will keep everyone updated if anything changes.

Just a quick update for our lovely customers!

Due to the road closures for the Half Marathon, we’ll be opening a little later than usual tomorrow, with doors opening at 12:00 noon.

We’d like to wish all the runners the very best of luck, enjoy the day and we hope everyone has a fantastic race! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️🎉

What a day… 💙🍦

We just want to say a huge thank you to everyone who came to celebrate 90 years of Fortes with us today.

The support and kindness shown to us was more than we could ever have imagined, and seeing so many familiar faces alongside new ones too made the day incredibly special for our whole family.

From the cake, to the fizz and ice creams, it was amazing to see everyone enjoying the celebrations as much as we did ✨

Today meant so much to us, and we truly hope we’ve done the generations before us proud by continuing the Fortes tradition.

Here’s to the memories we’ve shared, the community that continues to support us, and hopefully many more years of Fortes to come 💙
