The countdown is on for one of the village’s biggest and best community events! Join us on Saturday 20th June from 2pm–6pm for an afternoon packed with fun, entertainment, and activities for all ages.

Bring your family, friends, picnic blankets, and community spirit for a fantastic afternoon in the park.

🍻 And the fun doesn’t stop there! Join us afterwards for the After Party at The Star Inn, where the celebrations continue into the evening.

Our Sicilian chef, Josie, is away this week attending to family business back in Sicily.
While she is away, we are taking the opportunity to refit the kitchen. We apologise for any inconvenience caused but hope that the changes we are making will enable us to serve meals more quickly and to offer a wider range of dishes in the future.
We expect to be able to offer a full menu again from Friday 5pm.

High Fives all round!!
At 5pm on Monday 1st June 2026. Signing of legal documents was completed. It’s been a protracted and convoluted negotiation, but we have finally got over the finishing line and can celebrate that from today we are officially running The Star Inn at Whiteshill.
We thank George & Grace for the hard work they put into reviving the pub and we wish them all the best as they concentrate on their new venture in Cornwall.
Our mission is to ensure that The Star thrives as a pub whose principal purpose is to serve the local community. Our intention is to offer interesting and good quality food and drinks at reasonable prices and to provide an attractive venue that everyone in the village can enjoy and where they will always receive a warm welcome.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Star. Look out for announcements about our plans and events that we will be promoting over the coming weeks.

GREAT NEWS! FOR MCAVOY & ROSS PUB CO & THE PUB 😁

With three new directors officially joining our business from yesterday at The Star Inn — John, Marc & Michael, we want to wish them all the very best as they begin this exciting new chapter 🍻👏

This means we can now fully concentrate on our next chapter down in Cornwall with our family 😊

A huge thank you as well to all of our amazing staff who continue working at the Star 😊 So much happens behind the scenes that people never see and the support means more to us than words can say. We honestly couldn’t be more grateful, huge thanks to Clare who kept it going in our absence from start of December absolutely brilliant 👏♥️
