Our second shout out this week goes to that clever Adam Hinks - one half of Good On Paper and head honcho at graphic designer extraordinaire.

When we were toying with ideas about what to name the space (we'll always love Mr Twitchett but we felt like it was time for a change) - he came up with the BEST idea.

BSide is all about the position of the cafe (at the back of The Subscription Rooms) and a generous nod to our fine musical history. It also helps that, at the last count, FIVE of our team are in bands, or DJ.

He then took our new name and came up with a simple, but beautifully affective logo. We love it, and him, lots.

This is our first big THANK YOU - to one of the amazing people who came forward to help us transform our beautiful cafe at the back of The Subs.

Linocut artist Lucy Birkinshaw heard that we were doing some work in the room - and asked if she could help by providing some of the beautiful hand-printed wallpaper.

She recommended the stunning 'Hills and Mills' wallpaper - which shows two of the features that the Stroud valleys are so well known for.

Timescales were INCREDIBLY tight - we had just over a week to do all of the work - Lucy matched the paint in the cafe and used to it hand print the gorgeous wallpaper we are now so proud to have in our space.

She then worked around the different teams we had in there to put it up - making sure it was sealed and protected to preserve the design.

It's one of the features that people most comment on, and the cafe just wouldn't be the same without it.

Please support her, just as she supported us - we CANNOT recommend her enough.

Lots of you have commented on how beautiful our new cafe is looking during the day time - but have you seen the space at night, that's when she really shines!

If you want to hire the space for your event, community group, get together or band please get in touch ([email protected]) - we have flexibly hire plans, a tech team on hand to help with lights and sound, and we can provide delicious, affordable and varied options too

We've relaunched the cafe page so we can keep you up to date about our new menu, the great events we'll have in the evening and all kinds of lovely stuff going on in our lovely little cafe at the back of the Subs.

We haven't forgotten Mr Twitchett - he's an important part of the building's history and one we feel really proud of - but it feels like a new start and a new beginning.

BSide is a nod to the position of the cafe - the back of The Subs, and our incredible musical history.

If you haven't been in for a while please pop in and see us soon. We're really proud of how the space is looking and the buzz in the room xx

Oh, hello!

So we've been having a think and, we've decided that you might all prefer to see what we're doing at on our main The Subscription Rooms page?

So maybe you'll join us there? We'll still keep you posted on what's happening - but it'll be more often and you'll get to see all of the other bits and bobs that are going on in the main building there too...

Today, ALL day!

We are more than excited, tomorrow is going to be an extraordinary day of hi-jinks singing, laughter and cider from Stroud Wassail (we love them).

The town will be full of the weird and the wonderful (even more than usual!!) and we can't wait to see you here - we've all kinds of treats to reward you with.

See you tomorrow! And don't forget to snap up your ticket for tomorrow night fast - they're selling super quick...
