And just like that, my mood has totally changed! 🙄🤬

We provide so many things, here at The Hog, to keep the pub as family-friendly as possible.

Toys, books, games, colouring books… 📚🖍️

We want everyone to be able to enjoy visiting us, and we welcome you all (young or old) with open arms…

But I am sick to the back teeth of that welcome being totally abused!

Toys broken, books ripped in half, games left scattered all over the floor, furniture jumped on, stones thrown around…and now this! 🤯

Someone’s kid/s have done this yesterday, either with their parents’ knowledge, or whilst being totally ignored by them.

And neither ones of these options is acceptable.

❌ The Hog is not a crèche.
❌ We are not here to watch your children.
❌ We are not an infinite source of free play equipment, just here to be used and abused.
❌ And climbing BEHIND the woodburner is, obviously, absolutely not allowed under any circumstances!

I now get to spend tomorrow morning scrubbing and repainting instead of spending time with MY OWN CHILDREN! 😔

Mistakes happen. I get it. I have 5 kids myself.

But when things happen I take responsibility for it. 🤷‍♂️

I ask for a dustpan and brush or a cloth or, not that it’s ever happened, I would offer to fix the paintwork myself!

If you think your kid did this yesterday, please do the right thing, reach out to us and just come sort it!

Before I have to check the CCTV to find out.

Because this isn’t fair. On me or my kids.

And I’m now seriously considering removing all of the kids activities from the pub 😔

Carl is keeping the pub open for an extra hour tonight for any searchers who need a (free) drink or a snack to keep them going.

If you need any of the following, we will gladly provide them free of charge to help as much as we can:

Soft drinks
Hot drinks
Chips
Crisps/nuts/chocolate bars

Tea/Coffee/Squash etc, chips, crisps, chocolate - whatever you need to keep you going, please just ask and we’ll look after you!

Kath is 89 and has Alzheimer’s and hasn’t been seen since early afternoon today.
