We have worked incredibly hard over the last year at Screamin' Beans to create a welcoming space for everyone in Wollaston. We are proud of our little coffee shop, our growing community, and our new outdoor seating area.
Like many small businesses, we're still finding our feet. The business is growing slowly but surely, and with rising costs we still haven't been able to take a penny out of it ourselves. Even so, seeing people enjoy the space, meet friends, and make memories here has made it all worthwhile.
That's why it was particularly disappointing to discover that someone had deliberately driven a screwdriver through one of our car tyres.
As a small business, our vehicle is essential. It helps us collect stock, attend appointments, and keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes. The cost of recovery and replacing the tyre will actually be more than the takings this week.
We understand that parking can sometimes be difficult in Wollaston, but the vehicle was not parked on double yellow lines, nor was it blocking anyone in. If it was causing a problem, we would have been more than happy to move it. A simple conversation would have solved the issue.
We are genuinely saddened that someone felt this was necessary.
