In Italy, lunch isn't something you rush through between jobs. It's the whole point of the afternoon. 🍷

That's the pace we're aiming for at Baci. No clock-watching, no hovering with the bill, just good food, good company, and enough time to actually enjoy both. Sit upstairs or down, order a proper plate of pasta or something lighter, and let an hour or two disappear the way they would in a small trattoria somewhere by the coast.

It's Friday. You made it. 🙌

You know that feeling when the week finally lets go of your shoulders? That's the one we're after tonight. Come in, sit down, order something proper to eat, and let someone else do the cooking for once.

Oh, and it's National Red Wine Day, so there's really no excuse not to raise a glass while you're at it. 🍷

Here's something interesting though: the wine industry's been watching a real shift lately, younger drinkers (Gen Z and Millennials especially) are reaching for red wine far less than the over-30s crowd. Whether that's about taste, price, or just different habits, it's a genuine change in who's actually ordering the Merlot.

There's a warmth to Italy that's hard to put into words: the sun on the stone, neighbours chatting over coffee, everyone moving just a little slower than back home. 🇮🇹

We've tried to bring a bit of that feeling here to Kinver. It's in the little details: the way Marco greets you like you've been coming for years, the dishes made just like nonna used to make them, and the two floors, each with its own cosy, unhurried character. It's less about recreating Italy exactly and more about capturing how it feels to be there.

Lunch is a lovely time to notice it. Come in, take your coat off properly, and let the afternoon slow down around you.

The rain's finally easing off, and Kinver is looking gorgeous for it. Walk down the High Street at the moment and you'll spot hanging baskets in full bloom, with the flowers around the town doing their thing too. It's the kind of village charm that makes an evening out feel like a proper treat.

The forecast has settled at a comfortable 19–20°C for the next couple of days, and most of the showers we've had have stuck to the evenings, so daytime's been lovely. Perfect timing for a stroll through the village before dinner with us.

Behind the scenes, our chef's been busy getting everything just right, from prep in the kitchen right through to the plate. That's really the whole idea behind us: we cook, you enjoy. No fuss, no rushing, just good food made properly and a warm spot to relax into an easy evening.

There's a certain kind of magic in a proper sit-down lunch. 🍝

Picture this: a bistro table, a glass of something Italian, the smell of garlic and basil drifting from the kitchen, and an hour that feels like it belongs on a hillside overlooking the sea rather than Kinver high street. That's the mood we're going for every lunchtime at Baci.

Yes, it's August, the fans are on full blast, and somehow we're already thinking about Christmas. 🎄☀️

We're putting together this year's festive menu, and one of the dishes on the table for consideration is Gamberoni Giganti E Calamari. Before we lock anything in, we want to know what you'd want to see.

Thursday's looking like another scorcher, and the pasta pot's on regardless. 🔥🍝

Marco's dish of the day is Farfalle Al Salmone: butterfly-shaped pasta with smoked salmon and baby peas, folded through a cream and tomato sauce. Rich, but not so heavy that it fights the heat outside.

It's the kind of plate that makes you slow down a bit, which feels right when the High Street's this warm. Marco's already claimed the first taste, unsurprisingly.

The sky's about to do something strange over Kinver this evening, and Marco's already got one eye on the window. ☀️🌙

With the heatwave still gripping the High Street and a partial solar eclipse due to dip low over the rooftops tonight, it feels like the right moment for something fresh, so the Caprese is going out: sliced vine tomatoes, cool mozzarella, a good drizzle of extra virgin olive oil, and basil straight from the kitchen.

Marco reckons it's the closest thing to relief you'll find on a High Street this hot, eclipse or no eclipse. There's something quite fitting about a simple, honest Italian dish holding its own against something as dramatic as the Moon crossing the Sun.

We're serving it right through this evening's service if you fancy watching the sky cool down while your plate does the same.

Happy National Tell An Old Joke Day! 🌹

Here's one for you: Why did the pasta go to the party alone? Because it couldn't find its date... until it met its penne!

Alright, we know, we know. But it's Friday, it's been a long week, and honestly? We think that's exactly the point of an evening like this. Romance doesn't need a calendar excuse. It doesn't need to wait for the 14th of February and a table booked six weeks in advance. Sometimes it just needs a Tuesday, or a Friday like today, and someone worth sitting across from.

That's what this table is about. A rose, a glass of something good, two people who've had a long week and decided to spend part of it together instead of apart in front of separate screens. No big occasion required.

Live jazz is coming back to Baci and it's one not to miss. 🎷

On Thursday 23rd July, the Tim Amman Quartet takes to the room presenting The Great American Songbook, with the voice of Derek Spires bringing those classic swing standards to life. Add in Marco's new dishes fresh to the menu, and you've got the perfect excuse for a night out in Kinver.

Two floors of rustic-chic dining, proper Italian food made with ingredients imported straight from Italy, and live music tuned to fit the room, not overpower your conversation.
