harbour, the impressive gothic-revival style castle was built in the mid 1800’s by Sir James Matheson. Since then this beautiful building has also served as a hospital during WW2, a college, a school and now as an iconic wedding venue, day attraction and luxurious holiday destination with Together Travel. Our spacious rooms in Lews Castle offer the perfect place for both ceremonies and receptions. Filled with natural light, the venue is rich in culture and history with grandeur perfectly suited to such a special occasion. There are a choice of four rooms to suit your party size and the entire space is also available for hire. Pick up the perfect souvenir from your visit to our retail outlet 'The Outfitters', during your time at Lews Castle. From handy items to clothing and treats, we've got you covered. During National Lottery Open Week we’re proud to celebrate the restoration of Lews Castle 🏰

A remarkable project made possible with the help of £4.6 million of National Lottery funding and the dedication of many people behind the scenes.

A special mention goes to Iain Macleod, who will feature alongside Lews Castle on Sky HISTORY in the new series Great British Castle Rescue on Monday 23rd March. As part of the wider team involved in the restoration process, his contribution played an important role in bringing this historic building back to life. Today, Lews Castle stands once again as a cultural landmark for the community and visitors to enjoy.
