⚠️ VERY LONG POST ALERT… but this one deserves to be. ❤️
There are a LOT of thank yous in this post, but when this many people have pulled together and helped us achieve something this incredible, not one of them deserves to be left out. And i really hope we have covered everyone 🙏🏼
So grab a cuppa… or knowing most of you, a pint 😂🍺 because we can finally tell you what WE have achieved for Kenny…
❤️ £11,000 — WE DID IT FOR KENNY. ❤️
We've been trying to work out how to write this post, and we genuinely don’t think any amount of words can properly express how grateful we are for what everyone has done.
From the moment we lost Kenny, people have just shown up. What started as us simply wanting to do something to help has turned into something bigger than we ever imagined.
So, after everything has now been counted and the cost of Kenny’s funeral has been paid, I can finally and very proudly announce that we were left with an incredible…
❤️ £10,953.72 ❤️
We have rounded that up to a whopping £11,000, meaning £5,500 each will go to Kenny’s two children.
And THAT is something every single person who supported us should be incredibly proud of. ❤️
Every donation to the GoFundMe, every pound put into the donation box on our bar, every raffle ticket bought, every go on the tombola, every stall visited and every single person who walked through our doors on the fundraising day contributed towards that total.
A massive thank you also has to go to our neighbouring pubs — The Furlong Tavern, The Wheatsheaf, The Paradise and The Coach & Horses — for your incredibly generous donations and for getting behind us. It meant so much to see other pubs in our area come together to support one of our own. ❤️
Then there’s the fundraising day itself…
So many people gave up their own time, completely free of charge, to help us make that day what it was. Whether you helped set up, worked a stall, sold tickets, collected money, donated prizes, helped behind the scenes, tidied up or simply stepped in wherever you were needed — thank you.
And on a personal note, I need to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped us put that day together. There was so much work involved behind the scenes and we genuinely could not have pulled it all together without the people who helped organise, set up, run around, take jobs off our hands and keep us sane when there seemed to be a million things still to do! 😂❤️
You know who you are, and I hope you know just how much we appreciated every single bit of help. That day was never a one-person job, and what we achieved was a team effort from beginning to end. ❤️
A huge thank you to Amore sweet treats who baked and donated an incredible amount of cakes for us to sell. The time, effort and generosity that went into doing that for us was amazing, and every penny they helped us raise went straight towards Kenny’s pot. 🧁❤️
To Marcus Lewis Roper, who spent the day cutting hair and donated the cost of every single haircut straight into the pot — thank you. Giving up your time and working throughout the day purely to help us raise money was such a generous thing to do. ✂️❤️
A massive thank you to Prep ‘n’ Rep Kitchen for their donation and for keeping us all very well fed on what was an incredibly busy day! Your support was massively appreciated. ❤️
And to Taylor’s Touch Bespoke Hire, thank you for the part you played in the fundraising and for leaving some of us with something a little more permanent — a lasting reminder of our dear Kenny that we’ll carry with us forever. ❤️
And of course, a massive thank you to our incredible bar staff. ❤️🍻
You worked your absolute socks off from start to finish. It was a seriously busy day, but you kept that bar moving, the drinks flowing and somehow kept smiling through the madness!
Anyone who knew Kenny knows that behind that bar was his territory. 😂 He knew it like the back of his hand, and we always said Kenny was worth two people behind that bar, so you certainly had some big shoes to fill that day!
I’m sure he would have been super proud watching you all work his bar, especially knowing exactly what you were all working so hard for. You did him, yourselves and The White Hart proud. ❤️
We might have managed to keep his bar running without him… but there’ll only ever be one Kenny. ❤️
To Shindig Entertainment — thank you for keeping us entertained inside the pub all day and right through the night. The place was an absolute VIBE from start to finish and you were a massive part of that. 🎶🍻
And our amazing singers in the marquee — Liv Tyde - Solo Artiste, Mia Jade Yoxall, Irish Robbie Gilbride and Soleimani Robin Farid — you were all absolutely brilliant. Thank you for giving your time and talent to make the day so special. 🎤❤️
A special thank you to Tom Trivett too for setting up his sound system and making sure all of our singers could get up there and do their bit. It wouldn’t have happened without you.
A huge thank you also has to go to our darts team and pool teams for organising and hosting their Kenny Cup days. 🎯🎱❤️
Those days weren’t just about adding more money to the pot. They brought Kenny’s teams, his friends and the people he spent so many nights playing alongside together for days full of laughs, competition, memories and, of course, plenty of the usual banter.
Kenny loved being part of those teams, so seeing everyone come together and play in his name was incredibly special. I think he’d have absolutely loved those days!
Thank you to everyone who organised them, played, donated or simply came along to support. The Kenny Cup is a pretty special way of keeping his name and memory alive amongst the teams he loved. ❤️
There have been so many acts of kindness throughout all of this — businesses donating prizes, people giving their time, people donating anonymously, friends and complete strangers putting money into the pot, and a community that just kept asking:
“What can we do to help?”
And that’s how you get to £11,000!!!
Not through one person.
Not through one event.
But through hundreds of people all doing their bit for one man who meant so much to so many. ❤️
Kenny was part of our White Hart family, and the love and support shown since we lost him is something I don’t think any of us will ever forget.
His funeral has been taken care of, and now £5,500 is going to each of his children.
And for us, that’s probably the most special part of all of this.
Kenny’s community looking after the two people who mattered most to him. ❤️
So to every single person who donated, helped, performed, attended, shared our posts, bought a ticket, gave a prize, worked a stall, threw some change in a bucket or supported us in ANY way…
This £11,000 belongs to all of you.
We did it together.
And most importantly…
❤️ WE DID IT FOR KENNY. ❤️
From all of us at The White Hart, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Kenny, you’ll never walk alone. ❤️
