Thank you Stoke-on-Trent Live for sharing this, although I’m not sure the term ‘strips back’ is entirely fair.
For context, costs are ever rising and we have made an adjustment to our menu to not only make it more affordable for ourselves as a small, independent business, but to also benefit our ever loyal customers as we understand the pressures of being in the middle of a cost of living crisis.
Maybe highlighting the fact that we are trying our upmost to continue to serve our local community would have been a more positive outlook on what we are trying to achieve, as oppose to use a negative headline to no doubt gain traction, again without any care to notify us as a business.
We would always be willing to comment and open up to anyone that approaches us with any feedback, as we’ll always express to our followers.
As many small, independent businesses continue to close across the country, this article could have been a great way of shining a spotlight on the pressures local business owners face on a daily basis to sustain their livelyhood. So it’s really disheartening once again to see our business being shared in such a negative light from our local news outlet, especially in a time where mental health is such a big topic and we are already facing a lot of pressure.
We hope you understand our reasoning for our menu changes as it’s something we can not control. But rest assured, whether you are popping in for our delicious afternoon tea, a pot of our wonderful loose leaf teas, or for our amazing savoury board we will always aim to give you a wonderful experience as that’s what the people of Stoke on Trent deserve.
Again thank you to all of our loyal supporters, we wouldn’t be anywhere without you and we hope to welcome you all very soon.
