I've been aware of this little rural shop for a while but due to its lack of day time trading I was kinda disregarding it for lack of convenience, so with that out of the way we can focus on the other aspects of it.

The Shop : A terrace end style shop with little room for more than a couple inside is situated in quite the busy little village hub that is probably more than enough for the locals to get by on.
The shop is nicely tiled with marble-esque and stainless counters, handwritten style chalk board menu's hang above clear enough to see, at a guess I'd say it was a family run place and they were helpful and pleasant on my order pointing out the special is only small and more of a kid's meal, I wasn't ravenously hungry so figured I'd take a chance on it.

The Meal : As mentioned it's sold as a kid's portion really but I think as a light bite meal it was actually good value and enough for what I wanted.
Everything I had was fresh as I arrived pretty much as they were opening the doors for service and the fish was cooked to order, again the staff reassured/warned me that it wasn't a massive portion but I actually found that it was reasonable and on par with a lot of mini specials I've had.
The batter was lovely and crispy crunchy with light flakey soft flesh inside, chips had a nice jacket and separated well even with the thick curry to bind them, talking of which the sauce had a peppery undertone and was reminiscent of a Chinese takeaway style curry sauce which I thoroughly enjoyed.

The Price : £4.95 sits it happily in the fair category really considering it was all quite tasty.

Overall impressions : so obviously hindered by the less than convenient and impractical opening hours which is a shame as I would say the quality and quirkyness of it would've made it a little diamond in the sticks, if you're out this way and they're open though I'd say give them a try and some business all the same.
