There seems to have been post after post lately of things happening here in Endon in the past few weeks, it's so sad to see, I hope it all comes to an end and that everyone is doing well, but we have to remind ourselves that Endon is such a wonderful and beautiful place, full of beautiful people!!

This post isn't one of those, it's a happy cake post, we have a solid selection this week for you all to enjoy.

Oh wow what a crazy few weeks of weather we've had, it looks like it's about to calm down a little bit now, which means back to full swing in the kitchen and service times back to normal!

As you know we welcome reviews in general, as long as they are genuine... It's so upsetting to see...

We work so hard to make sure everyone has a lovely time, we really do care about each and every one of you, without you guys, we wouldn't be here - we like to see it as a family!

Reviews like this are damaging to small businesses - now Adele made a good point, we don't do cream teas on a Sunday, we actually don't do cream teas at all and we never have(we plan to, but we haven't implemented it yet...)

Now I'm not sure whether this person is confused or just has it out for us, but we are absolutely dog friendly, we just ask that they are kept on a lead and are well behaved as we don't have a door separating the kitchen from the seating area.

If you do have a genuine complaint, we are always happy to resolve it via Facebook Messenger or in the shop.

IMPORTANT! Good morning everyone!

It's given out a really hot few days, so we've gone ahead and rented a lovely Aircon system so it stays cool inside the tearoom.

It's also extremely important to mention, the kitchen gets extremely hot in general and in this weather it reaches much higher temperatures, so to combat this we sometimes turn off the baxton to reduce heat, whilst this doesn't change what we can do, it means that service can be slower than usual so please be patient with us during the heatwave!!

⚠️ Oatcake Packs & Verbal Abuse ⚠️

I can't believe we're having to write this but we’d like to remind all customers that our team deserve to feel safe, respected, and valued at work.

Today, a member of our staff was shouted at in the tearoom. This is completely unacceptable, and we have a zero-tolerance approach to any form of abuse towards our team.

As many of you know, we are currently not stocking packs of plain oatcakes from Staffordshire Oatcakes. We’d also like to clarify that Staffordshire Oatcakes and ourselves are separate businesses with different owners. We are not an oatcake shop.

The Railway Tearoom was previously owned by Val & Jason under the name Station Kitchen, where oatcakes were made on site or at Jason’s shop in Hanley. Following Val’s passing, the tearoom is now owned by her daughter Charlene and her partner Jake.

If you have any concerns, please ask to speak directly with Charlene or Jake. We kindly ask that you do not contact Jason regarding tearoom matters, as he is no longer involved - he also doesn't deserve to be shouted at.

Our staff work incredibly hard to create a warm and welcoming environment for everyone. In return, we ask that they are treated with kindness and respect at all times.
