It is with great sadness I write this post.

Unfortunately due to my breast cancer diagnosis toward the end of 2025 and my on going treatment and recovery, i have had to make the very difficult decision to close the cafe permanently.

I would like to thank all my amazing staff for their hardwork over the last few years and helping us get through to Christmas, at what was an exceptionally difficult time for me.

Thank you to all of you, our wonderful customers, for supporting the cafe over the years.

All good things must come to an end 😥
And unfortunately that time has come.

Happy New Year to all of our customers.

We will be taking a long extended Christmas break this year and will be closed all of January.

This will allow my body time to recover and heal from my recent Breast Cancer surgery and I am also still awaiting further treatment.

I will confirm plans for reopening early February.

Kitchen closes 2.30pm

This week we are open Sunday for breakfast only 10am-11.30am
Lunch is pre booked Christmas lunches from 12noon.

Highlane Oatcakes have been delivered fresh this morning.
We will have only 2 more deliveries of them before we close for Christmas 🎄

Customer Notice.

It is with sadness that we have to inform our customers that Jane, our owner and chef has been diagnosed with breast cancer very recently.
On Wednesday 26th November, she will be having surgery and will be off recovering until new year.

The Cafe will continue to open-all be it with some potential changes to opening hour's and day's.
As a small local business, it is undeniable that this news has come as a worrisome shock ahead of the Christmas period, a time so valuable to us.

We plan to honour our Christmas bookings for Afternoon tea and Christmas lunches, with the sad expection of 2 events-where all bookings will be contacted and their deposit refunded or an alternative date booked.

My team are working exceptionally hard to keep doors open as much as we can- but of course, it is difficult to predict exactly what lies ahead at this time. We plan to post weekly updates on opening times to our Facebook cafe page "The Courtyard Cafe Alsager".

It is always difficult to turn customers away but in this situation my health must come first and is priority. It is with this in mind that we remind customers that staff are doing their best in the face of this challenge.

Thank you for understanding at this difficult time.
