So this weekends food marathon kicked off this morning with a visit to Toast Stirling after an overwhelming amount of recommendations from page followers (thanks for engaging).
I’ve been to Toast a few times before so I knew it was a safe bet to get a decent scran. It was a no-brainer really.
I went with the intention of ordering the biggest breakfast on the menu because that’s usually how it goes down for me in these gaffs but when the friendly waitress arrived with the menu that choice became alot more difficult. Everything I looked at I fancied!
The coffee’s arrived (a gingerbread latte for myself, cappuccino for the mrs and a wee smoothie for the gaffer) and then it was time to make a decision.
I opted for the Steak Focaccia… a soy grilled steak, some green stuff and a mustanaise, which is the mongrel pup of mustard and mayonaise and I’m sure we can all get down with that cross breed! Some salad on the side which didn’t get eaten. Tried a bit of which I thought was a pickle but it was just cucumber so that was discreetly disposed of.
The focaccia was lovely tho, the bread was fresh, the steak was tender, no gristly bits, there were a few fried onions for good measure and that perfectly combined mustanaise. A great way to start the day!
The good lady opted for a Chorizo Omelette with sun-blushed tomatoes and I gave her the puppy dog eyes for a bit and she succumbed to the irresistible glance across the table. The omelette was light and fluffy and the chorizo accompanied it well with the paprika taste chipping in without dominating the conversation.
Sofia had kids Scrambled Egg and Toast (as always!) and the empty ramekin at the end and the one massive bit of toast finished bar the crusts tells me that that also, was enjoyable.
Alot of places chuck anything on a plate for kids so it’s good to see just as much effort made for her.
Overall I can say it was a highly enjoyable meal and at £38 for the lot it was at the high end of the price scale but because of the quality on every plate it was justifiable.
Based on the quality, friendliness of the staff and the vibe of the venue I would happily recommend it to anyone.
As Simon Cowell says, it’s a yes from me!
