Victoria's Coffee Shop

Victoria's Coffee Shop est since 2000 & firmly established as one of Stirling’s top coffee shops. Voted best cafe in Stirling 3 years running. fab homemade food & amazing staff

We are proud to say we are firmly established as one of Stirlings best coffee shops and have been since 2000. Victoria's is owned by mother and daughter Marion Bates and Victoria Struthers whose vision was to create an establishment where the food was homemade, freshly prepared on the premises daily and all at a reasonable price, which is what we continue to do to this day. Our homemade lentil sou

p is our own recipe and has been on the menu every day since 5th June 2000! Breakfasts and hot filled rolls are served until 4pm and our toasties, sandwiches, baked potatoes and french toast are just a few of our established favourites served until 4.30pm. Everything is also available to takeaway. The majority of our cakes are homemade by Marion (we're not going to lie, we can't make millionaires shortbread!) and our "Italian Aroma" coffee is just the right blend. Williamsons the bakers from Alloa supply our freshly baked rolls daily and our scones are freshly made every morning by our own fair hands, come in sharp enough and they'll still be warm! Our loyal customer base and fantastic staff set Victoria's apart from the competition and we hope to continue providing Stirling with the best coffee shop in Stirling for years to come.

Long post, bear with me ❤️

Sometimes decisions from the heart are the hardest to make and we have made a difficult one. We started this shop almost 24 years ago, on a 10 year plan! we’ve been through many ups and downs but defied those who said we were mad! I’ve had 3 kids who have known me only to do this job and mum has had 6 grandkids. In all that time our world revolved in one way or another around “the shop”. Being self employed has a lot of advantages, it does however, have a lot of disadvantages and our family have lived with both.

My eldest has just started a great career, my middle is off to uni after the summer and my youngest off to high school. Mum had a bad fall 8 weeks ago and has been unable to work. Time is precious and we are finally learning that. It’s time to spend a carefree summer before they do their own thing. It’s time for mum to retire and spend quality time together. It’s time for me at the big 50 to become the employee (with holiday entitlement!)

Covid changed the way people spend their time and money and it’s becoming more apparent things will never go back. Stirling city centre does not offer enough to support the ever increasing number of coffee shops and a council who have no vision and no drive to get down to grassroots. There’s no town centre management and no communication and consultation with businesses on everyday issues. Big events are great but there’s another 360 days in a year. We could spend the next year trying to sell and we probably would quite quickly but we have a couple of obstacles and time is precious, we don’t get it back and our energy is spent. It’s served us well and owes us nothing.

So with mixed emotions we have decided our time has come to let it go, it’s overdue and we are more than ready. We have seen many staff come and go (and come back again!) and become part of our family. We’ve seen babies grow up and even come in with their own kids! We have had so many regulars over the years, ones you can set your clock by and many who have sadly gone. It’s been a laugh, it’s been tough, it’s been a joy and it’s been a burden. But we have definitely made our mark in Stirling ❤️

Our official closing date is June 15th and we will try to go that long, however, as our staff move on it may no longer be possible. So grab your lentil soup while you can, 24 years of it being on the menu every day from the day we opened and until the day we close. Thank you for supporting us for so long ❤️

Rant time! Stirling council are a joke. In a time when let’s be honest Stirling city centre needs some help, we need an increase in footfall, Stirling council sees fit to increase car parking charges. Not just by 20/30p but almost double in some places. The Vue has now went from £2.20 to £4 a day, £8 a week to £16. Victoria square from £3.60 to £5. It beggars belief that the “visionaries” for our town centre see this as an acceptable move, not to mention how much it now costs workers to park. Add to that the new restrictions in King St that you can no longer load or unload unless you have a van between 9-5 and no longer aloud to park for pickups. If you have a van it would seem however you can park all day! It’s almost like they’re not interested in the direction town centre businesses are going…. Welcome to Stirling! Get a grip 😡

We’ve had this happen before to a customer. We will be vigilant but make sure to keep phones close to you!
