We are huge dogs fans here at The Roadhouse and love supporting local businesses.

This gem is just across the road from us. We quite enjoy watching the steam trains go past the pub on a weekend. Not every work place can say that 😁

Calling All Four-Legged Explorers! 🐾 Say hello to Nelly, who is keeping a close watch on some very special treats at the railway.

We are proud to be dog friendly at Tanfield! Not only do dogs travel for FREE on our trains, but they are also welcome in our station buildings and shops! It’s the perfect day out for the whole family – including the furry members.

After a steam train adventure, why not treat your companion to our exclusive Tanfield Trackside Treat biscuits and delicious doggie ice cream, available from our shops.

We are surrounded by fantastic walking routes, including the beautiful trails around Causey Arch!

Our Barman Blake had a proper send‑off at the pub last night before he heads into the Marines this week. His proud family surprised him with a party filled with friends and family!

He’s been a big part of the place since opening a year ago— steady behind the bar, full of laughs and banter.

The wishing well is out for anyone who wants to leave him a message or a bit of good luck as he starts this huge new chapter.

Go make us proud, Blake. Your pint will be waiting for you when you’re home on leave. 💙🇬🇧

The Bob Gin Bar is now available for private hire — perfect for craft groups, walking clubs, social meet‑ups, book circles, Private bar hire, small celebrations and more.
