We’re expecting a very busy and lively evening, so due to capacity and safety concerns, we won’t be able to welcome under 18s or children on the premises after 8:00pm.

🌱 Calling all green-fingered locals – we need your help! 🌱

Our community garden and veg patch at The Lychgate is growing well, but we’re complete novices and could really do with some advice and a few helping hands!

We’re looking for volunteers who can spare an hour or two to help with:
🌿 Weeding
🌱 General maintenance
🍓 Tips on keeping everything healthy and productive

We’re currently growing:
🥔 Potatoes
🌽 Sweetcorn
🫛 Peas
🥬 Swiss chard
🫜 Beetroot
🥒 Courgettes
🍎 Apples
🍐 Pears
🍈 Figs
🍓 Strawberries
🫐 Gooseberries
🌼 Wildflowers

One thing we’re particularly unsure about is Swiss chard. How do we look after it, when should we harvest it, and what’s the best way to cook or use it?

Every bit of fruit and veg we grow is given back to our local community free of charge to help feed those who need it most through The Lychgate, so any advice, donations of gardening supplies, or offers to lend a hand would make a real difference.

🎤 The fantastic Mista Nash will be performing outside from 5:30pm, getting everyone warmed up and in the perfect mood ahead of tonight’s huge World Cup semi-final! ⚽🎶

Expect all the classics, plenty of singalongs, and an atmosphere to get the hairs standing up on the back of your neck before kick-off at 8pm! 🇬🇧🏆

Get down early, grab a drink, soak up the atmosphere, and let’s roar the Three Lions on together! 🦁🦁🦁
