Fresh from the oven 🔥🧀

There's a moment every morning when the whole café stops smelling like café and starts smelling like *home* that's the cheese scones coming out and the Chaii being brewed.

Golden, buttery, insanely cheesy, and out the oven just for you. Some things are worth walking in for.

Who's popping in for one today? 👇

As we’ve said previously, Chaii Hub - St Neots is not affiliated with any political party or political agenda. We’re here for our whole community, and we welcome everyone, regardless of their political views or who they support.

What we really appreciated today was seeing the community conversation happen naturally. Cllr Richard wasn’t here pushing his views onto our customers; quite the opposite. Residents chose to approach him, ask questions, raise concerns and share their own experiences. That’s what an open community space should be about.

We’re grateful that our little café could provide a place where those conversations could happen in a relaxed and respectful environment.

And to our other local councillors and representatives our door is open to you too. It doesn’t have to be at Chaii Hub, but we’d encourage anyone representing our community to make themselves available for honest, face-to-face conversations with the people they serve.

We may not all agree on the answers, but giving people the opportunity to be heard is important.

Different views. Different parties. One community. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who came in, had a Chaii and took part in the conversation today.

☕️🌿

🎒 PARENTS… WE MADE IT. 😂

The summer holidays are nearly over.

No more hearing “I’m bored!” 47 times before breakfast.
No more negotiating screen time at 9am.
No more wondering what on earth to feed them for the 17th time that day. 😂

The uniforms are coming out.
The school shoes are being located. 👀
The alarms are being set. ⏰
And St Neots is about to get its morning buzz back! ☕🚶‍♀️

But here’s our little September challenge…

❤️ REDISCOVER YOUR HIGH STREET.

While the kids are back at school, why not give yourself a reason to get into town?

☕ Coffee with a friend
🥐 Breakfast or a little treat
🛍️ Browse an independent shop
🍽️ Grab some lunch
💇‍♀️ Finally book that appointment
🚶‍♂️ Have a wander
💬 Stop and have a chat
🤝 Support a local business

Because our high street isn't just a collection of businesses.

It's people.

It's the familiar faces.
The little conversations.
The businesses taking a chance.
The places where memories are made.
The people who live, work and raise their families right here in our community.

And with St Neots growing and changing, there’s always something new to discover. 👀💚

So this September, before we start thinking about the next trip to London, Cambridge or somewhere miles away…

LOOK WHAT'S RIGHT HERE. 👇

Your local café.
Your independent shop.
Your favourite takeaway.
That little business you've always said you'd try.

Give them a visit. ❤️

And yes… if your September morning starts with dropping the kids at school and finally sitting down with a HOT cup of chaii or coffee while nobody asks you for anything…

WE FULLY SUPPORT THAT. 😂☕

👇 BE HONEST…

What are you most looking forward to?

A) Getting the kids back to school 😂
B) A peaceful coffee ☕
C) Getting your routine back 📅
D) Exploring St Neots ❤️
E) ALL OF THE ABOVE! 🙌😂

Tag a friend who deserves that first “school is back” coffee. 👇

🎤 Jimmy Carr, toddlers & a little bit of “being mean”... 😂

We came across this little clip of Jimmy Carr being asked a brilliant question from the audience:

“What advice would you give parents with toddlers?”

His answer genuinely made us smile, especially because there’s a part of it that really resonates with us here at Chaii Hub - St Neots

Jimmy jokes that you could just buy Netflix and let them do whatever they want… 😅

And, well… at Chaii Hub, we could say the same thing:

“Just leave them in the soft play and let them crack on!” 😂

But his actual point was much more important.

Sometimes, when your little one wants something they shouldn't have, or is doing something they shouldn't be doing, you have to be prepared to “be mean in the moment.”

Not cruel.
Not angry.
Not shouting.

Just setting a boundary, even when it would be easier to laugh it off or give in.

And honestly, we see this every day.

Our little toddler soft play has become such a lovely part of Chaii Hub. Over the last three and a half years, we've watched little ones come in as tiny toddlers and gradually grow into confident little people. 🥹

We feel incredibly lucky and genuinely privileged to have played even a tiny part in so many of their childhoods.

But every now and then, we see something that makes us think about Jimmy's advice.

A book being ripped. 📚
Wallpaper being peeled off the walls. 😬
Toys being thrown at another child. 🧸
And occasionally, the parent laughs it off.

We completely understand that toddlers are toddlers. They are learning. They are testing boundaries. They are figuring out the world.

And that's exactly why those little moments matter.

Because we're not their parents, we sometimes find ourselves in a difficult position. It's not really our place to step in and tell someone how to parent their child.

So instead, we'll simply share Jimmy's message:

Be mean in the moment. ❤️

Because sometimes saying “No, we don't do that” today is what helps them understand why we don't do it tomorrow.

And for us, it's not just about protecting our books, walls or toys.

It's about teaching little people to be kind, respectful and considerate of others.

We're a very relaxed place. We want children to run, play, explore, make friends, have fun and probably leave with crumbs absolutely everywhere. 😂

But we're also a community.

And we all have a little part to play in helping the next generation grow.

So… thank you to all the amazing parents who do exactly that every day. ❤️

And Jimmy Carr, we think you might have just summed up toddler parenting better than most parenting books ever could! 😂
