Not every day a 5 metre puppet gets paraded through St David's!
What a fantastic evening! ✨
Tonight's procession marked the beginning of Carreg Filltir Las: Taith yr Arglwydd Rhys, a special celebration commemorating 850 years since Lord Rhys hosted the first National Eisteddfod in 1176.
The giant puppet represents Lord Rhys, one of Wales' most influential medieval rulers, who is remembered for bringing together poets, musicians and storytellers in a celebration of Welsh culture that would eventually evolve into the Eisteddfod we know today.
Seeing him "awaken" at the Cathedral and make his way through the city was a truly memorable sight, and it was wonderful to see so many people enjoying the music, atmosphere and community spirit throughout the evening.
Thank you to everyone who popped into The Brunch House for a drink and helped make it such a special night. ❤️
