👏🏻 THE CAST IS OFF👏🏻
• Thank you for all your lovely messages about today 🥰 Woohoo!! We daren’t think to hope that we would have my cast off, in a boot (which believe me my leg & foot are going nuts) and I am actually able to start to weight bear 4 days earlier than the 6 weeks! So next challenge is to be brave enough to actually put weight through my left foot and fair to say I am going to have to get my big girl pants on and be brave because first time I had horrible nerve pain through my heal so armed with my spider crutches it’s mission to start moving around without Si’s office wheelie chair so here goes to the next phase of recovery, you really do have to strike a pose, let’s do this 👊🏻 Thank you to ❤️•

🤦🏼‍♀️ DON’T ASK! 🤦🏼‍♀️
• As promised to many of you guys who asked for updates on Facebook as don’t have an instagram account or follow or to follow the journey of the next chapter and what we didn’t plan was Fern running full speed into the back of my legs whilst running for the ball which resulted in a broken ankle, I took 46 years for me to break a bone. We don’t know how it happened as we were both facing the other way as we had seen a pair of kingfishers flying along the river, next thing I am slowing falling to the floor and in a surreal world as my head lay on the ground I realised my foot was facing the wrong way and asked Si to straighten my foot then somehow we managed to slowly walk home as we were in the fields at Maythorne and at 7.30am we were in A & E. The most frustrating thing about it all is that I was starting to have windows when I felt less rubbish however being frustrated, angry, disappointed or asking “why?” achieves nothing because it’s happened and it was an accident. We have such beautiful friends & neighbours supporting us & being as resourceful as ever we have converted downstairs in a bungalow, moving around on the office wheelie chair because me & using crutches is impossible due to my health conditions but you always find a way, you just have to have a plan•

😢 DON’T BE SAD 😢
• One of the last few things remaining to be sorted was the removal of our brown tourism signs, from daydreaming of having to creating something that deserved one! The key to closing the chapter of All Mine Cakes as a tearoom is to celebrate that it happened, the magic it created and happy memories. For whenever the next chapter is written, we are currently in the process of applying to have the brand trade marked hopefully to create a cook book? For now, we need to continue to focus on my health as we knew the other side would be tough however we weren’t quite prepared for the true impact but it’s a journey & that’s okay, just have to ride the waves 🥰 For anyone who wants to see what happens next take a look on instagram •

🏥 INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY 🏥
• As many of you may know before the not so little adventure of I was a nurse for over 13 years, you touch lives in peoples most hour of need. Just wanted to update with our final donation to through your generosity as part of our Gift a Coffee because it evolved in the early days to a donation which helps contribute to whatever support, equipment or care that is needed towards helping those & their families at this time of life. In total you guys donated 148 coffees which totals £444! The biggest thank you to everyone who donated. I have received many messages asking how I am on the other side, to be honest I have been proper side swiped however now I have the opportunity to allow my body to breathe versus the crazy yet amazing time of building your dream and see the success of determination & believing. My team are all okay, we had an afternoon tea garden party at the weekend and it was just like a proper group of friends having a catch up, as I had to leave early (as the body said enough) the emotions of so many things were released through tears on the way home, maybe grieving for the once was, pride of how awesome they are & acknowledging that for now my life is a little different however we are hoping this is just a phase? If any of you guys would like to say hello or simply see life outside of the tearoom I have a couple of instagram pages is all about “cake dog” as she was known & which is simply my next journey & everything lovely on the way•

❤️ THE JOURNEY ON THE OTHER SIDE ❤️
• After our visit to see the specialist in London we celebrated Mr. AMC’s landmark birthday I actually had a Pimm’s (I haven’t drank alcohol in years as exacerbates my symptoms). All Mine Cakes by the Lake social media pages aren’t being monitored however several of you guys wanted follow my journey whatever it may become on the other side of wading through the next chapter of trying to manage various chronic illnesses & not feel so unwell as after surviving on adrenaline for several years it’s fair to say my body has slightly fallen off a cliff yet that’s okay, it’s phase 1 of recovery… I have created a new instagram page which is my journey & other loveliness along the way as so many of you guys wanted to remain on the journey whatever it may be? There is no plan, let’s see what happens•

🥰 THIS IS NOT A GOODBYE 🥰
• Firstly, I have to thank my best friend for believing in me when we were taking a blind leap of faith & supporting me this not to little adventure!! How do I even begin to thank you guys? The outpouring of love, kindness, tears, messages, cards, flowers, hugs & laughter as silly as it sounds I never truly appreciated how much we were such a part of your lives as nobody can ever prepare you for running a business, you are so busy head down ensuring the magic happens you almost don’t have opportunity to look up, if that makes sense? Telling the world about something that I have managed to hide behind the smiles for so long it allowed me to take a breath, look up and be overwhelmed with the reaction as I appreciate it came as a huge shock to everyone. None of this has been possible without you guys near & far, whether you had opportunity to visit us or support us from afar along with our amazing suppliers… As always, for those of you who know me will know this isn’t the end, as we say goodbye to our chapter of All Mine Cakes by the Lake, we turn the page to the next chapter of focussing on my health with a personal reminder of our last weekend I was genuinely scared as felt so unwell so have bottled that feeling as a reminder of why we made to make the heart breaking decision to walk away from my dream however sometimes things happen for a reason, there will be another chapter maybe sooner than expected so this isn’t goodbye, it’s a see you again soon & watch this space ❤️•

🥰 THE TRUE MEANING OF A TEAM 🥰
• My team are a truly bloody amazing bunch of people who even though yes I’m the boss they are genuine friends. These guys have my back, believe in this journey and even though I dropped the bomb & turned their worlds upside down but never faulted, they supported me through the insanity, kept going, dug even deeper, worked at 110% and friendships have been made forever!! My main wobble along all of this was them, how do you tell them? We absolutely love this photo simply as demonstrates the power of team work, friendship & laughter. We are having a meal out next Friday once we have all had a little time to decompress. Myself & Mr. AMC need to wrap up a few loose ends first thing tomorrow and then we walk away leaving a little piece of my heart in the memory of AMC 🥰•

• Our very last cake menu, as promised we have lots of cake available for anyone wishing to stock up their freezers on our last day of All Mine Cakes by the Lake tearoom, the sun is going to be shining. The important thing is to celebrate that it happened and try not to be sad that it’s ending, it’s always been a happy & special place for so many people 🥰•

🍰 ONE VERY LAST ALL MINE CAKES 🍰
• So tomorrow (Friday) is our last day of the tearoom, we are open 9.30-3.30pm. The plan has worked absolutely beautifully, we have a full cake menu with approximately 300 cakes available for you guys to enjoy, takeaway & stock up your freezers… We will also be serving a full hot food menu, a few edits however we not only have one last cake, we will have full breakfast, pancakes, Fish & Chips and lunch menu plus of course we have made extra triple cooked chips because who doesn’t ❤️ them?? •

❤️ GIVING A LITTLE BACK ❤️
• As part of our closing we have been running down cake baking ingredients & stock however what we hadn’t planned for was how much you guys would be stocking your freezer up with cake (don’t worry we have loads of cake available). My plan is to donate leftover ingredients stock only simply to avoid food waste & help someone else so the next few days we will have a “help yourself” table at the tearoom as living with coeliac disease or food allergies/intolerance is not only limiting what foods you can enjoy but also it’s blumen expensive, everything will be within date and in sealed packaging, this is ingredients only. Please double check the ingredients as yes everything will be gluten free however with additional dietary requirements I am handling this one to you guys so please bring a bag for life, reusable bag, we have tubs to help safely carry eggs home… If anyone would like to make any donations you are more than welcome, just let one of my team know, there will be a collection pot behind the till, unfortunately we ask for cash simply as any card payments I have to pay 20% VAT plus card charges & will donate the funds to as it’s something very close to our hearts then anything if anything left will be donated to our local food bank. I will try & take a proper photo later however it’s all systems go as soon as I arrive. Don’t forget we are open from 9.30am for all things AMC & enjoy the sunshine ☀️ This excludes ALL other items, it is ingredients only•
