We are really looking forward to making our debut at the The Railway Hotel in Southend on Saturday 26th September.

Some of you will know that the Railway was one of the key venues in the history of British R'n'B, and we are thrilled to add our name to the venue's illustrious alumni.

It's an evening show, and there is no admission fee. Get there for 8pm to get a full delivery!

The Milk Men bring together classic British R’n’B, blues and straight-up rock ’n’ roll, with influences ranging from Dr Feelgood and Fleetwood Mac to AC/DC, ZZ Top and The Rolling Stones.

Their line-up features Jamie Smy on vocals, Adam Norsworthy on guitar, Lloyd Green — son of legendary Pirates guitarist Mick Green — on bass, and former Pirate Mike Roberts on drums.

And they’re arriving at The Railway following the release of their brand-new 2026 album The Milky Way, packed with the kind of big riffs, hooks and high-energy rock ’n’ roll that this venue was built for. 🤘

This is a band built for the live stage.

Expect hard-hitting rock riffs, filthy blues grooves and a dose of psychedelic soul from a powerhouse trio whose members have some serious miles behind them — including appearances at Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage, Maida Vale and Sonisphere, alongside touring across Europe, Australia, Brazil and America.

BLACKBALLED have also smashed their way through festivals including Beautiful Days, Bearded Theory, Deerstock, Strummercamp and Rockstock, building a reputation for high-energy live shows and proper musicianship.

🎶 GRASSROOTS MUSIC MATTERS — AND SOUTHEND NEEDS IT! 🎶

Tonight at The Railway Hotel, we’re proud to be hosting The Showcase, celebrating the artists, bands and promoters who keep grassroots music alive in our city.

Southend has always had music running through its veins. But thriving local music scenes don’t just happen — they need venues willing to put bands on, promoters willing to take chances, and most importantly, people willing to turn up and support them.

Grassroots gigs are where musicians learn their craft, build an audience and get that first opportunity to play in front of a proper crowd. Without those smaller stages, there’s no pathway to the bigger ones.

That’s exactly why restoring live music to The Railway Hotel has been so important to us. This building has been part of Southend’s music story for generations, and we want it to remain a place where new music can be discovered, local talent can grow and established grassroots artists have a stage to call home.
