CommuniBakes Southampton Communibakes is a community bakery supporting Communicare in Southampton.

We are the commercial arm of the charity, Communicare and specialise in homemade, sweet and savoury treats. All profits from the bakes sold go towards the charity and the work it does to help lonely and isolated people across Southampton.

☕ WHAT A LOVELY WEEK OF CHATS, CONNECTIONS & COMMUNITY! ☕

Last Wednesday for Southampton Mental Health Friendly Day, and throughout last week, we had a lovely time welcoming people who stopped by for a chat, took a seat at one of our ‘time to chat tables’ out front and enjoyed connecting with others.

Whether you joined us for a bite to eat, a sweet treat, a cooling drink or delicious brew, it was wonderful to see so many friendly faces making use of our outdoor space. 💙

As part of the Power of Hello initiative, we were proud to provide a safe, welcoming place where people could pause, say hello and share a conversation. The simple act of connecting with someone can make a real difference and it was lovely to see that happening throughout the week. We were delighted when passersby also stopped to chat with people seated too.

A huge thank you to everyone who came by, pulled up a chair and helped create such a positive and friendly atmosphere. We’d love to see you all this week too, so the chatting can keep going! 😊

📚✨ Our CommuniBakes fridge has a brand-new purpose! ✨📚

If you've been wondering what happened to our old fridge, the wait is over...

Thanks to some fantastic community teamwork, our old fridge has been transformed into a Book Swap Library and is now proudly sitting outside the Bakery! 📖💙

Whether you’re looking for your next great read or have books you'd like to pass on, please feel free to bring a book, take a book, and enjoy a swap. It's a simple way to share stories, encourage reading and bring our community together.

A huge thank you to: 🔨 Brian from Men's Shed and Communicare volunteer Frank for giving the fridge a fantastic makeover and a whole new lease of life. 👏 Lisa for helping to organise everything, making it look pretty and for being our ‘Chief Librarian’, and our wonderful landlord for kindly allowing us to place it outside the Bakery for everyone to enjoy.

What was once destined for the tip is now another community resource, helping people connect through the joy of reading. 📚
