Anyone else miss the good old days?

I miss the local bakeries and butchers opening nice and early, supplying fresh produce and looking after local businesses. These days it feels like the big chains have taken over, and we’re often stuck with whatever they decide to stock.

Don’t get me wrong—I like convenience as much as the next person—but nothing beats quality, friendly service, and supporting local independent businesses.

Here’s hoping we see more local shops making a comeback… because great food starts with great ingredients (and an early opening time wouldn’t hurt either! 😉).
