The temperature in our kitchen feels hotter than the sun 🥵. We have therefore decided to switch off some of our heat generating appliances (like our fryers), which means some of the items on our menu are unavailable until Friday. We will reassess then and see if we can offer our full menu again over the weekend. Please bear with us until this heatwave passes. We will always do our best to serve you as quickly as we can. There is still lots to choose from on our menu and If you don’t fancy anything to eat, we offer a wide selection or iced, cold, hot and alcoholic beverages. Thank you for your understanding and for still visiting and supporting us despite the high temperatures. Stay cool! xx🫶🏻xx

We have experienced a significant fall in trade this week and last weekend due to the ongoing work on , road closures, and poor signage and traffic diversions. This comes after an extended road closure of the A3051 due to a burst water pipe and subsequent road damage. Unfortunately, we’ve had so many last minute cancellations because customers can’t get to us or are put off, understandably, from coming to us because of chaos on the roads surrounding us. Small businesses like ours are already struggling to stay afloat due to all the taxes imposed on us and high operating costs, which makes it impossible to keep absorbing losses like this for reasons far beyond our control. Something has to change. and all their contractors need to do better. They need to catch up with the rest of the civilised world so it doesn’t take weeks, months and years to fix a pothole, resurface a road or build a bridge. I’m calling on help from to support us with claiming compensation and relief to offset the losses we suffer through periods of disruption, whether they are planned or unplanned. We’ve worked so hard to build a successful business and we love doing it. And we are still committed to our jobs despite the smaller than ever profit margins. It’s not fair that we have to consider closing and losing our livelihood because of poorly planned and executed multi million pound projects.

Don’t forget, we are open tomorrow (bank holiday Monday 25/5/26) from 10am-4pm. We understand that the road closure is f...

Don’t forget, we are open tomorrow (bank holiday Monday 25/5/26) from 10am-4pm. We understand that the road closure is frustrating and the signage and road barriers have been misleading some to believe there is no access to us. But we can assure you, we are accessible via the A5031 (from direction), and you can continue down the road despite the road closure sign. If the diversion is off putting, you can always park in Botley and take a short walk to us. We are really not happy about the disruption this has caused to businesses in the area 🥹. We apologise for all the inconvenience and really appreciate your patience and continued support. We hope to see you soon xx🫶🏻xx

If you are travelling from direction, you can drive down Botley Road as usual until you get to us. If you are traveling from ,unfortunately you will have to follow the diversion. Although it will take you longer to reach us, we still hope you will visit over this time and keep us busy. We promise to offer you a warm welcome and delicious food and drinks. Well .. never did I think I’d have to write something like this. Last Saturday, after what was meant to be an end to a nice evening engagement party, attended by a group of close family and friends, turned into a three and a half hour nightmare for us. Never have I ever been in fear not just for my own safety but for the two ladies working with me that night. All caused by one individual (the groom!) who was having what can only be described as a psychotic fit. And in the midst of him being calmed down/restrained by his male friends, drunken brawls broke out and women were verbally and physically assaulted by those who were supposed to be ‘helping’ him. The sad reality is, most likely nothing will come of this situation. The culprit, although released from police custody, is yet to reach out to apologise to us for what he’d done. His partner, although apologised the next day, is more concerned about retrieving personal property she lost while she was verbally abusing those who were trying to help her and her abusive partner, let alone worry about the anguish, loss and damages we suffered . The women assaulted that night will probably not press charges because the system is so messed up that it makes it more hassle than it’s worth. This is not ok. Laws and procedures should not make it so hard to convict someone of a crime they’ve committed and allow them to walk away with minimal consequence, if any. Victims of crime should feel confident in pursuing a criminal conviction of their offender because they know the process will be worthwhile. But above all, people should learn or be taught decency. If you mess up, apologise and do the right thing. This unfortunately is not the case today. Emergency services have been incredibly helpful and are truly under appreciated for the work they do with idiots they have to deal with daily. To the two people responsible for this mess, you need to take a hard look at yourselves and reevaluate your life choices. If you can’t handle your drink, don’t drink. You do not treat people and their property like this and walk away free. Shame on you!

🌟🌟🌟🌟We are still open🌟🌟🌟🌟
Unfortunately Botley Road by Fairthorne Manor (YMCA) is closed due to road damage after a burst water pipe 😥, but we are fully accessible from hedge end/botley/wickham directions.
We are nervous about these road closures in May and how they will impact our and neighbouring businesses, so PLEASE don’t be discouraged to visit. All our planned bookings are still going ahead and we are taking new bookings too. We apologise for this inconvenience that is out of our control and very much appreciate your continued support during these unsettling times. We look forward to welcoming you soon xx🫶🏻xx
