Veg Out Pop-Up Community Vegan Cafe

Veg Out Pop-Up Community Vegan Cafe Weekly community vegan cafe providing a warm space and nutritious meals to the local community. Weekly Community Vegan Cafe held every Monday from 11.45 to 3pm.

The cafe uses surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and provides nutritious vegan meals and a safe, warm space to the local community. More specifically, we are a community cafe providing a focal point for groups and individuals to meet and socialise in a friendly and supportive environment. We see the purpose of the Cafe as being a place for promoting a vegan and environmental message, as well as fostering strong community ties, combating social isolation and providing access to a nutritious hot meal for people hit by the cost of living crisis. All our meals are cooked from scratch, using fresh ingredients that would otherwise end up in landfill. The Cafe is not-for-profit and is run entirely by volunteers. Meals are free but donations are welcome from those who can afford them. Many of our customers come from disadvantaged groups and for the past year we have also been running as an officially recognised Warm space for the winter months. Volunteers needed: We’re always on the lookout for committed volunteers to help out at our cafe on Mondays. Volunteering opportunities include serving at tables, clearing up, washing up, prepping food and more. You can volunteer for the whole day or for a few hours. We look forward to hearing from you.

- Choice of pizza (mushrooms, broccoli, red onion and chickpeas)
or pizza baguette (tomato, onions, mushrooms and vegan cheese)
- Sauteed tofu chunks, red peppers and broccoli

Our delicious menu for Monday 7th September - come and taste some nutritious cooked-from-scratch vegan food while listening to lovely local musicians Chris Townsend and Chris Cudlip:

- Summer stew with black beans and paprika
- Potato and onion bake
- Roast carrot/ sweet potato
- Feta and avocado dressing
- Fresh baked roll.
