At the end of September the Romance book festival Once Upon a Tyne debuts, and the week after is the Indy Book Festival, organised by Crear Publishing! Details for both are below, but we also have flyers in store for them.

And of course, if you can't attend either, we're always here for your bookish needs 😁

Every month we have ladies messaging asking to go onto a wait list, or wanting to buy tickets on the night. But tickets must be pre booked in advance so we can complete our seating plan, and order the correct amount of stock. So please don't leave it to late!

It's that time again! Your weekly sweet treat update!
Sweet Alchemy Bakes have made us the lush Raspberry Ruffle stuffed cookies that you all went made for earlier this year!

This Sunday is the Great North Run, but don't fret, we will still be open, and with extended hours!
This week only Sunday will be 10am - 5pm incase you need to recaffeinate or even just rest your weary legs 😊 please remember we don't do throwaway cups for takeaway, so please make sure to have your own if you want it for the journey home 🙂

A little reminder that Jonathan Brough’s latest book launch is happening TODAY 12PM at Electric Beacon Books, South Shields 📚

Join us in South Shields to celebrate the release of Cottingley Beck - a magical YA novel about identity, belonging, creativity and finding the courage to take centre stage. 🎭

Expect an author talk, audience Q&A, book signing and plenty of bookish chat throughout.

Good morning! How is it already September? 🤯

Kids back at school means perfect for all you parents to come and de-stress with a good book, a cuppa and a lush Sweet Alchemy Bakes crunchie brownie 😉

It's a busy month here at Electric Beacon, this Saturday we have a new YA release from Jonathan Brough, and on the 19th there's a historical fiction debut from L.J. Morton! Both of these authors work with Crear Publishing, organisers of the Indy Book Festival in October.

Plus, we have the first ever meeting of a general fiction book club! There's still a couple of spaces left for this, message the shop if interested 😊

Sunday 20th the shop will be closed for the day, but will be back to normal the following Wednesday, so don't panic!
