This is Steve, Adele’s husband. Unfortunately Adele lost her very long battle on Tuesday.
She is at peace and it has been really comforting to know how much she means to you, and also what a massive miss she is going to be to us all.

After 20 wonderful years at Mardi Gras, we are sad to announce that we will close our doors for the last time on Friday July 3.

As some of our loyal customers will know, Adele has been battling ill health for some time and is no longer able to run the business.

But we are pleased to announce that new owners El’s Bakery have exciting plans to expand their lovely business based just round the corner in Ada Street.

Both Adele and husband Steve, who has supported her behind the scenes for many years, would like to thank you for your support and for your much appreciated well wishes at a difficult time.

We would also like to thank all the staff who have supported us over the past two decades and pay special tribute to Sharon and Anna who have helped keep the shop open in recent weeks.

We hope that you will give the team at El’s Bakery a warm welcome when they open on Monday July 13. We wish them all the best for the future.
