🥁 WELCOME TO BONHAM DRUMHEADS, ALICE ROSE 🥁
We’re delighted to welcome Alice Rose, drummer with South Shields-based band Five Minutes To Midnight (5M2M), to the Bonham Drumheads Endorsed Artist Programme!
Alice’s musical journey began at the age of 12, playing bass and guitar before discovering the drums while studying music at college. She was instantly hooked and soon found herself performing with a band at venues across the UK.
Inspired by powerful, distinctive drummers including Cozy Powell, Nicko McBrain, Dave Grohl and Danny Needham, Alice has always been drawn to players with a strong sound and plenty of character—the kind who make you want to turn the volume up!
Following several medical issues and operations, Alice had to step away from music. Ten years passed before she returned to drumming during Covid, initially playing an electronic kit at home. It wasn’t long before she realised that simply playing along to songs wasn’t enough—she needed to be back in a band.
That determination led her to Five Minutes To Midnight. Nearly a year later, with a growing list of gigs ahead, Alice is firmly back where she belongs: behind the kit and driving the band forward.
Her return to drumming has also introduced her to some brilliant musicians, including the opportunity to meet one of her greatest influences, Venom drummer and North East drumming legend Danny Needham.
Now 36, Alice is making up for those ten years away—playing live, meeting inspiring musicians and turning the volume all the way up! 🤘🥁
