FRYDAYS is a family run fish and chips restaurant & take away in the heart of South Shields. The food is excellent and the restaurant is comfortable. FRYDAYS is located just past underneath the last metro bridge in shields town centre facing the general post office. Come along and you will find something you love.

Who still has the runners high?
Can you believe just a few days ago we were out enjoying the sun, and watching a wonderful race?! Honestly it’s one of our favourite days of the year! We just want to say a big thank you to all of those who chose to reward their hard work with a meal at FRYDAYS, the restaurant was full of amazing energy! You really did inspire our whole team! And to all those cheering on or just coming in for your usual Sunday chippy, you know that we all love ya!

It’s Great north run day!!
The great north run really holds such a special place in my heart. For many years, I participated in the run with my husband and children in support of the wonderful charity CHUF (The children’s heart unit fund) in honour of my beautiful daughter.
It’s definitely not easy to run 13 miles but to do it in support of so many wonderful charities, to have a community cheering you on, donating and celebrating the amazing work all these organisations do is honestly incredible. It’s on days like these that we see just how wonderful people can be.

This is just a quick message to say a massive well done to all our runners and all the wonderful people standing by and cheering them on!
We will be open all day as usual, and are serving coffees, ice cream and food all as normal! See you soon ❤️
