Low fat spreads
Low fat yogurt
Skimmed milk
Low fat cheese

For years we’ve been told to choose “low fat” everything… but your body actually NEEDS healthy fats.

🥑 Healthy fats help support:
• Hormone production
• Brain function
• Vitamin absorption (A, D, E & K)
• Healthy skin
• Feeling fuller for longer

Many ultra-processed “low fat” products replace fat with added sugar, refined starches or additives to improve taste.

🌻 What about seed oils?

Not all seed oils are the same, but many highly refined seed oils used in ultra-processed foods are extracted using industrial processing and are found in foods like crisps, fast food, pastries and biscuits. Rather than focusing on one ingredient, it’s often more beneficial to reduce ultra-processed foods overall.

Instead, build your meals around whole foods and include healthy fat sources like:
🥑 Avocados
🫒 Extra virgin olive oil
🥜 Nuts & seeds
🐟 Oily fish
🥚 Eggs

Remember: it’s the overall quality of your diet that matters most—not just whether something says “low fat” on the label.

Omega-3 fatty acids are ESSENTIAL fats, meaning your body cannot make them on its own – you must get them from food or supplements.

These healthy fats play a vital role in:
🧠 Brain function and memory
❤️ Heart health
🔥 Reducing inflammation
👁️ Eye health
⚖️ Hormone production and balance
😊 Mood and mental wellbeing

Unlike protein, carbs, and many other nutrients, there is no substitute for Omega-3. If you’re not consuming enough oily fish, seafood, algae, or a quality Omega-3 supplement, your body simply misses out.

Best food sources:
🐟 Salmon
🐟 Sardines
🐟 Mackerel
🐟 Herring
🦪 Oysters
🌱 Algae oil (plant-based option)

Small daily choices can have a huge impact on long-term health.

Do you get enough Omega-3 in your diet? 👇

Did you know your body needs fat to make hormones?

Hormones like oestrogen, progesterone and testosterone are all made from cholesterol and fats. When we don’t eat enough healthy fats, hormone production can be affected, which may impact:

✨ Menstrual cycles
✨ Fertility
✨ Energy levels
✨ Mood
✨ Brain function
✨ Skin and hair health

Healthy fats also help your body absorb important vitamins A, D, E and K, which play a role in overall hormone balance.

Some great sources of healthy fats include:
🥑 Avocados
🐟 Oily fish (salmon, sardines, mackerel)
🥜 Nuts and seeds
🫒 Extra virgin olive oil
🥥 Coconut products
🥚 Eggs

Fat isn’t the enemy — it’s an essential nutrient your body needs to thrive. Focus on nourishing your body, not fearing food. 💛
