We were deeply saddened to hear the news that Simpsons will be closing its doors after 32 remarkable years.
A true icon of Birmingham’s dining scene, Simpsons has played an enormous role in shaping the city’s reputation as one of the UK’s great culinary destinations.
For over three decades, the restaurant has consistently delivered exceptional food, outstanding service and unforgettable experiences for countless guests. Its contribution to hospitality in the Midlands cannot be overstated.
This news is particularly poignant for us at Cheal’s, as Simpsons is where our Chef Director, Matt Cheal, began his career and developed his skills over many years under the guidance of some of the industry’s most respected figures. The foundations of his career, and in many ways the values we hold at Cheal’s today, were shaped during his time there.
What has been achieved at Simpsons over the past 32 years is truly remarkable. The restaurant leaves behind an extraordinary legacy of culinary excellence, exceptional hospitality and professional development, having inspired and nurtured generations of hospitality professionals who continue to make their mark across the industry today.
The legacy of Simpsons will live on through the countless chefs, front of house professionals and hospitality leaders whose careers were inspired and nurtured within its walls.
Thank you for 32 extraordinary years.
