A personal account from one of our team members at The Funhouse-
Today we invited a small group of guests to the soft launch of The Play Barn
Someone asked -“Will the twins be there?”
With a heavy heart, I said no.
But on Sunday, Monday AND Tuesday something very special happened 🥹
So much of what goes into Funhouse has been inspired by being a preschool mum. The ideas, the little details, the things I’ve noticed on days out, the things I’ve wished existed — all of it has been poured into this business.
And on Sunday I had the absolute honour of opening the door to our new soft play room and saying to the twins:
“This is all for you.” ❤️
The pure glee. The happiness. The excitement. The awe on their faces.
That, right there, is what being a parent is all about.
They had their own exclusive play sessions , of course… because someone has to be in charge of Quality Control, right?! 😂
Every slide, every corner, every bit of equipment had to be thoroughly tested before we could possibly showcase it to everyone else! 😉
Seeing our children so completely full of joy is what inspires us to keep going, keep improving and come back stronger every single time.
Because that look on their faces?
That’s the look we want other parents to experience with their children too.
After all… it’s all for them, isn’t it? ❤️
There have been so many nights of coming home barely able to walk after painting, working, researching, planning and delivering — only to start my second job…
Being a Mum.
And sometimes, yes, I feel that mum guilt. The guilt of not always having the twins with me. Of trying to balance being a mum while building something I believe in.
But days like Sunday, Monday AND Tuesday make some of that guilt disappear.
Because although the Quality Control Department didn’t attend our official soft launch today … they’ve already had their own VIP exclusive access to make sure we’re doing it right. 🥰
And I hope that when they’re older, they’ll look back and realise that so much of what we’ve built was always, in one way or another, for them.
We know first-hand that parenting can be tough. Hard. Exhausting. And, let’s be honest… damn right difficult sometimes!
That’s why we’ve worked so hard to create The Funhouse , as a place where children can be themselves, let off steam, explore, play and have fun — while adults have somewhere they can breathe too.
Our new play barn has been designed with exactly that in mind: somewhere for little ones to burn off some energy, alongside a quieter, serene seating area for parents and caregivers to sit, take ten minutes, reset… and prepare for the next round! 😂☕️
Because we’re parents too. We get it.
Everything we’ve learnt from our own experiences, especially from navigating days out as a twin mum, has been poured into The Funhouse.
And we can’t wait to share it all with you. 💛
