With another heatwave underway this week, in conjunction with Yorkshire Dales National Park, North Yorkshire Police and we want to remind you of a couple of messages to ensure you enjoy the countryside safely during this period.

☀ Please note that during warm periods like this our moorland areas need to be protected. We cannot stress how important it is not to light barbecues, stoves and fires, or drop cigarette butts and glass on the moors or the laybys adjacent. They are presently high risk areas.

☀ If spending time near the river, please remember that despite the warm temperatures out of the water, the water itself is still very cold. We do not advise swimming, however tempting it may seem to go in to cool off.

☀ Do not park in or block farm entrances or gateways, access to livestock is required 24/7.

We are anticipating a very busy weekend and would advise all those who plan to visit, to pre-book their tickets, particularly for Barden Bridge car park where numbers are very limited.
