MILL STREET BEAM FOOTBRIDGE GRAND OPENING.
A massive group of locals and bridge fans alike turned out on a damp Sunday morning to witness local celebrity, and the King of Chit Guy Gibson officially open the Mill St Bridge.
After a potted history of the bridge from 1908, through the repair and the great storm of 67 to the present day. The ribbon was cut on the 39ft (12mt) span allowing once again a link from Newtown, to the former swampland on the other side. The king thanked everyone for coming, with special thanks to Sidmouth Town Council and Ultim8 Construction for making it all possible.

The King of Chit has very kindly offered to open the new Mill St Beam Bridge tomorrow (Sunday 11) at 11.45. If you are passing would love to see you.

And the winner is.....
On a spectacular morning the intrepid fisher-folk of Sidmouth and beyond, competed for The Black Rod Open Fishing Trophy.
With a huge selection of different fish caught (and put back), the 11th hour winner was Wez Payne, with Bass, Dab and Smooth Hound (40pts). Other species caught included po***ck, thorn backed ray and dogfish. Many thanks to all competitors.

Black Rod - Open Fishing Competition is a fish freindly "One Rod and One Hook" competition with all fish returned.
Fish from Mouth of the River Sid to Chit Rocks, meeting back at the Swan at 12.30.
Sign in please before the day either here on FB, or in person at the pub.
