We are looking for a reliable individual to fill a part time role in the cafe. Barista experience is essential. The individual will need to be hard working as there will be dishwasher work also as well as taking orders and clearing tables. The minimum age requirement is 17+ as there would be week day hours as well as weekend work.

Hours would vary per week but the shifts would be from 9am until 3pm.

Forget ordinary date nights with chocolates and roses. Treat your partner to a delicious buffet, hidden secrets and a shocking murder! Unmask the killer before the dessert platter arrives 🗡️💀

Join us for an evening of murder and mayhem where someone’s Valentines date will end up on ice.

This interactive murder mystery night is set in the 1940s and gives you a chance to dress up (optional), indulge in delicious food and drink and unleash your inner detective.

This event takes places on November 21st at Stowford Community Centre, Sidmouth. Doors open at 6:30pm and the event runs until 9pm. Proceeds go towards the amazing charity Saint Nicholas Children’s Hospital in Ukraine.

Tickets can either be purchased with cash via The Chattery or via PayPal with Theresa - see poster for details.

Well it’s been a hard and stressful week but it’s finally finished! The Chattery will be back open on Thursday at 9am 😁 Pop in for a coffee or a delicious freshly cooked meal and support your local independent, family run business!

Thankyou for your kind messages. Unfortunately it is taking a lot longer to complete the work that needs to be done. Hopefully we will be back open but Thursday 24th. We will keep you posted of any updates.

Hi everyone,

Unfortunately,some really bad news. We’ve had to undertake some major building work in the cafe. We are doing our best to try and open as soon as possible, however we won’t be able to open Thursday and Friday of this week.

This piece of work was not expected so please bear with us as we are heartbroken (and stressed) with the work that needs to be done.

We will keep you updated with any changes to our opening times for the weekend.

Our kitchen is undamaged and fully operational, please bear us in mind and get in touch if there are any outside catering opportunities you would like us to cater for.

Love is in the air…and so if murder…

Join us for a night of murder, mystery and mayhem! 🗡️💔

We are excited to be part of a murder mystery charity event that is raising funds for Saint Nicholas children’s hospital Ukraine. This will take place on Saturday 21st November at Stowford Community Centre in Sidmouth from 7 till 9pm.

Doors open at 6:30 where you will be greeted with a glass of chilled Buck’s Fizz. You will then be seated with your fellow sleuths to solve the case of this 1940s valentines murder, hosted by the incredible Marc Norris!

We will be serving a delicious hot and cold buffet included in the ticket price with a bar open throughout the evening where alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages can be purchased.

Tickets are £40 per person and can be purchased via The Chattery with cash or via Teresa Murphy by either cash or PayPal. Please see details on the poster.

Hello everyone, I know it’s regatta weekend and the weather isn’t very cheerful but why not pop along to The Chattery for a bite to eat or a piece of delicious homemade cake!

Just a reminder our breakfasts all come with toast and a free apple juice/orange juice/tea/small americano with prices starting from £8.75.

Our full sized coffees start from £3.00 going up to £3.30 and our hot chocolate is made from real dark chocolate flakes!

Pheww it’s hot! I hope everyone is finding some way to cool down.
I’m just posting a thank you to all the staff. During this heat wave we have been open as usual Thursday and today and they have turned up and soldiered on as normal. Thank you.
The kitchen has been at boiling point yesterday and today but my daughter, Elinor has given her all despite the heat.
We will be open as usual tomorrow but closed Sunday for a christening.
We hope to see you all for breakfasts, lunches or snacks.
And remember we have ice cold drinks and plenty of ice to cool you all down!!!
