Oak Mead Cafe and Golf Course Oak Mead has been planned from the very start as a family attraction and opened for all to enjoy in Summer 2003. The course is a 9 hole par 3 and 748 yards

Opened on May 1st 2006 by District Councillor Mike Green, the Cafe offers a warm welcome and somewhere to relax with a range of coffees, teas and cold drinks together with a tempting selection of cakes, pasties, toasted sandwiches, breakfasts, sandwiches and light snacks, and our guests favourite the Devonshire cream teas (in the summer season). Open daily from 9.00am during busy periods. The Coffee Shop is a pet and smoke free area.

🍂 Three lovely reasons for an autumn escape to Oakdown…

There’s plenty to look forward to around our beautiful corner of Devon over the coming weeks. If you’re joining us soon — or looking for an excuse to squeeze in another break — here are three dates for your diary:

✨ Sidmouth Illuminated Carnival | Saturday 26 September -�Enjoy an evening of carnival colour in our lovely seaside town.

🔬 Sidmouth Science Festival | 9–18 October� - Feed your curiosity with talks, demonstrations and activities for a range of ages. Most events are free, with Super Science Saturday on 10 October a highlight for families.

🎃 Trick or Treat Tram at Seaton Tramway | 29–30 October� - Add a little Halloween fun to your half-term adventures with a spooky family tram ride.

And between the outings? Make time for a coastal stroll, something delicious in a local café - a game of golf at Oak Mead and a little relaxation back at Oakdown. 💚

The Volley Catering Company trailer at Oak Mead has kept us all fed through a busy season and we have loved having them here.

Now that things are quieter, the trailer will be open on Friday evenings only, 5.00pm to 8.30pm, serving fish and chips for £10.00 with an extra fish for £4.00.

Eat in, sit outside or take away. Friday fish and chip night is staying put!

You do not need to be staying at Oakdown. Oak Mead is on Gatedown Lane, just outside Sidmouth, with plenty of free parking, so whether you are finishing a round of golf or driving over from town, come and join us.

Every evening of the week, the Oak Mead Café is serving pizzas. Last orders is 6.45pm, so head over in good time.

Thank you to everyone who supported the trailer over the summer. See you on Friday.

✈️ THE RED ARROWS ARE COMING TO SIDMOUTH!

Sidmouth Regatta returns this Bank Holiday weekend with three days of fantastic seaside entertainment.

The excitement begins on Friday 28 August with a free afternoon of flying displays above Sidmouth seafront. Look out for historic aircraft, wing walkers and the spectacular Red Arrows finale at 6.40pm.

There’s plenty more to enjoy over the weekend too:
