A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for our Sashiko Workshop today. 🧵💙

It was so lovely to see everyone getting creative, learning this beautiful traditional Japanese stitching technique, and enjoying some time together. There were plenty of stitches, smiles and gorgeous creations along the way! 🪡

Our Sashiko Workshop with Becca Tansley and Teri Evans is happening Thursday 3rd September, 3–6pm, and we’ve still got a few places left! 🪡

Come along, escape the rainy weather and spend a lovely afternoon learning the beautiful Japanese art of Sashiko — a traditional decorative stitching technique that’s relaxing, creative and surprisingly easy to get into.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or already love sewing, this is a chance to learn a new skill, slow down and make something with your own hands. 💙

Join Becca & Amanda from Becca Tansley and Teri Evans at Shop Kaizen for a beautiful short series of workshops — the ancient Japanese art of decorative stitching that’s as meditative as it is creative.

🧵 Session 1 – 20th August
Hitomezashi: straight lines, crosses & overlapping stitches
🧵 Session 2 – 27th August
Moyozashi: flowing curved lines without crossing
🧵 Session 3 – 3rd September

Variations + making a traditional Japanese rice bag
Each 3-hour session (3pm–6pm) is complete in itself, so you can come to one or all three! Perfect for beginners — you’ll learn everything from how to hold the needle to choosing your stitching path, all while creating something tranquil and timeless.

All needles & thread provided. Just bring an approx. 8” (20cm) square of loose-weave fabric (linen, cotton or ramie work best).
