Ever wondered what it's like to be part of a real vineyard harvest?

This autumn, we're inviting a handful of volunteers to step behind the scenes at Hencote and experience one of the most rewarding days of the winemaking year.

From the first snip of the secateurs to the final crate of grapes, you'll play a part in shaping the 2026 vintage. You'll work alongside our vineyard team, learn more about English winemaking, and enjoy a day immersed in the rhythm of life among the vines.

And because no harvest day is complete without good food and wine, we'll treat you to breakfast, lunch and a celebratory glass of Hencote wine.

🔴 Spotted in the vines: the red-headed cardinal beetle

Far from being a pest, it's actually a predator, feeding on other insects flying around the flowers it perches on, so it's doing the vines a favour. A sun-worshipper, it's widespread across England and Wales, but always a treat to see up close among the vines.
