I am delighted to announce that I was voted the Best Curry Chef in Shropshire for 2013/14 – thank you everyone for your kind words. Old Hall Persian Influenced Restaurant is considered to be amongst the best restaurants in Shropshire. Through time, Persian cuisine has grown and influenced the culinary mores of the Middle East, Central Asia and India. Persian cooking is renowned for its elaborate rice dishes, delicious kababs, nourishing soups and hearty stews. Persians delicately flavour their food with herbs, spices and dried fruits. A variety of nan-like impressive flat breads supplement rice. Pomegranates and dates provide a sweet finish to meals. Our cooking is dominated by simplicity and yet the results are amazing; to look at, to smell and to taste! It is full of pleasant surprises! Fusion of Persian and North Indian Cuisine is our speciality. Please note that we are NOT an Iranian Restaurant anymore! Our food is unique to us. WINNER: Shropshire Curry Chef of the Year 2013

🌅 A little something different tonight…!

For a change, this post isn’t about the , the , or our wonderful . Tonight, I simply wanted to share a few photographs of the stupendous sunset we were lucky enough to witness this evening. ❤️

There is something quite magical about the skies at this time of year. As autumn arrives and the days become shorter, the evening sun sits lower in the sky. Its light has to travel through much more of our atmosphere, scattering away the shorter blue wavelengths and leaving more of the beautiful reds, oranges and golds for us to see.

And tonight, nature certainly put on a spectacular show. 🌅✨

Sometimes it’s worth simply stopping for a moment, looking up, and appreciating the beauty that is right in front of us.

And, of course, , our much-loved restaurant dog, was there to enjoy the evening too. 🐾❤️

What a truly wonderful Saturday evening at Dorrington Old Hall ❤️

We were so delighted to welcome a lovely party of 23, with family travelling from up and down the country and even from across the globe to spend precious time together around our tables.

It was such a pleasure to see everyone enjoying themselves, sharing laughter, conversation and, we hope, plenty of delicious food! Thank you so much for choosing us for such a special family gathering, and for kindly giving us permission to share these photographs. It means a great deal to us. ❤️

And to everyone who finds themselves in beautiful Shropshire, we would be absolutely delighted if you came to visit us at the Old Hall. You will always receive a very warm welcome. ❤️

17 Years of Dorrington Old Hall ❤️

Back in 2009, we opened our doors for the very first time, never quite knowing what the years ahead would bring.

Seventeen years later, we look back with enormous gratitude. Along the way, we have had the privilege of meeting thousands of wonderful people, many of whom have become familiar faces, friends, and a truly special part of our journey.

You have shared birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations, family gatherings, quiet meals, laughter and countless beautiful memories around our tables and you have allowed us to share our food, our home and our passion with you.

We feel incredibly blessed and grateful to have been part of so many people's lives over these 17 years. ❤️

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who has walked through our doors, supported us, recommended us, left us a kind word, or simply enjoyed a meal with us.

Here’s to 17 wonderful years and, God willing, to many more memories, friendships, laughter and good food together. ❤️

The days are certainly drawing in now, and you can really feel how much earlier the is setting each evening. Yet what a lovely, balmy day it has been: warm, gentle and just perfect for enjoying the last golden light of the day.

There’s something rather special about watching the arrive, even as we slowly say goodbye to summer. ❤️

Some guests really do make your day. ❤️

It was such a pleasure to welcome these two lovely people to the Old Hall for lunch today. They booked with us last night, came in for lunch, and were incredibly kind and complimentary about the food.

As a small, family-run restaurant, words like that genuinely mean so much to us. We put a lot of love into what we cook and serve, so knowing that our guests have truly enjoyed their meal is the greatest reward we could ask for. 🙏❤️

They were also kind enough to let us share their photograph, and I’m very grateful to them for that. 📸

And please remember, you don’t have to book to come and see us. If you see our little OPEN neon sign glowing, just come through the door. Whether it’s lunchtime, dinner, or you’re simply passing and fancy something freshly cooked, you are always welcome at the Old Hall.

🌿 Sometimes, all it takes is an OPEN sign… ❤️

Thursday afternoon we had the pleasure of welcoming a lovely couple from Yorkshire, who are holidaying in our beautiful part of the country for the week. They happened to spot our OPEN sign, decided to stop for lunch, and what a lovely surprise it turned out to be!

They enjoyed our Old Hall Fish Curry and the beautifully slow-cooked Beef Nihari, and were absolutely delighted by the depth, warmth and flavours of the food. 🥰

And being from Yorkshire, we know they’re no strangers to good food! 😉❤️

It was such a pleasure to see their faces light up as they enjoyed their meal. Moments like these are exactly why we love what we do.
