Let’s hope the weather starts weathering & the RV’s start rendezvousing 🤭

After an incredible turnout of 32 visiting Vans RVs at last year’s fly-in, we're aiming BIGGER and BETTER! ✈️ This year, we're challenging the UK's RV community to help us DOUBLE that number! Let’s see how many of these incredible aircraft we can get in one place.

Last year, the competition for the longest distance travelled was fierce, with an RV-6A from Kittyhawk clinching the title, beating two RVs from Rochester by just 2nm! 📏 Who will take the crown next time?

🏆 This year we are also adding a "Best RV" competition, judged by Shobdon's resident RV pilots.

💐Mothers Day💐

Just a little note to say that we are FULL for dinners today for our Mother’s Day sitting.

Whilst here prepping dinner for all you lovely mummy’s, it’s given me a moment to think about my own mum, who will be spending Mother’s Day here with me again, working her socks off.

She really isn’t appreciated enough by me and truth be told, she is the absolute back bone of this cafe & I would be royally screwed without her.

Love you mum & thank you for everything you do for me 💜

(And yes she’s my mum, not my sister) 😂

‼️Earlier Closure‼️

We will be closing at 2.30pm today. This is to enable the loved ones of our recently passed member & flight instructor, Dennis Davies to celebrate his life.

Dennis was one of the Airfields most popular characters, having taught many people to fly & being a long standing member later in his life it is only right that we give him the send off he deserves, in what I would have thought is one of his most beloved places.

Our coffee machine has had a very busy 7 years being used daily and has decided to take a rest so unfortunately we have no machine coffee available until the issue is sorted. Instant still available if you need your caffeine fix.

We are hoping to have it fixed by this afternoon/tomorrow latest 🙏

Ummmmmm…?!? Who the hell are you?! ☀️

There is light at the end of the tunnel and it’s looking to be a lovely day, we’ve got some freshly baked cakes comin at ya and of course our wonderful breakfasts, pies, pasties and great coffee!

Well a busy evening/early morning was had at the cafe last night.

Jordan & Josh spent the evening so kindly painting the cafe to give it a new modern, clean, sleeker, warmer & more inviting look.

Jordan is now based at the airfield with Go Fly PPG hereford Paramotor training & so kindly offered to do this for me, saving me the disruption of closing & days of work, we are so grateful for the help of both him & Josh.

WOW 😮

I am truly and utterly shocked by the response to our last post! (In a good way). Thank you so much for all the likes, comments & shares.

Doing things like this, supporting local, supporting small businesses, using cash, spreading the word truly helps businesses like this through our quieter months when trade declines but bills still rise.

Over 1000 names, 3 hours & NO wine in the process whilst typing up your names into the name generator for Sundays draw! An evening of record setting 🫣😂

We are open today & we’ve got some fresh cream cakes heading to the counter as well as all of our usual bits on display. Bacon & sausages sizzling & good coffee brewing!
