🎉 GEORGE’S IS 1! 🎉
So, as it was our first birthday yesterday (which I completely forgot 😂), I thought I’d better write a little status…
A year ago we opened the doors to George’s, and blimey… what a whirlwind of a year it’s been!
When I first had the idea of opening a café in Shipley, I genuinely didn’t know if I was doing the right thing. I invested pretty much every penny I had and took a massive gamble, risking everything I’d worked hard for over the previous few years. But I took the plunge and went for it!
Of course, there have been downs, stressful days, countless hours, sleepless nights and months of working 7 days a week. But there have been so many more ups. Never for one minute did I think George’s would take off the way it has and to now be able to call ourselves an award-winning café after just one year is something I’m incredibly proud of! 🏆💙
My vision was always simple, fresh food, quality customer service and a clean, welcoming café where everyone can afford to eat. That’s what we set out to provide from day one, and that will never change.
None of it would have been possible without the people around me. My amazing family, my brilliant team who have become friends, everyone who has worked with us over the past year, and those who are still with us today, thank you. 💙
But the biggest thank you has to go to our customers.
You believed in us, supported us, recommended us and kept coming through our doors every single day. We haven’t always got everything right, but you’ve stuck with us and helped us grow into what George’s is today.
We genuinely love working in the café. We love the laughs, the conversations and all the relationships we’ve built with so many of you.
Hopefully George’s will be part of Shipley for many, many years to come, because we’re only getting stronger and stronger.
