The Hunters Moon is a traditional mid-18th century former coaching inn. It was restored to its former glory in 2000, and changed its name from the White Horse Inn to The Hunters Moon. Middlemarsh (aka Marshwood in Thomas Hardy’s novel ‘The Woodlanders (1887)’) is a small village consisting of about 30 houses in West Dorset. It is surrounded by beautiful Dorset countryside, and is situated half way

between Sherborne and Dorchester on the A352. Sherborne station is a ten minute journey away, which has links to London Waterloo.
