Apologies for no updates since December. It’s been quite eventful, though no “events” sadly. Thank you to those who visited us on December 17th at Brewed Boy: a true test of character as a bitter north easterly wind blew through Georges, blew through attending customers! And thank you . Following this, we then found during Georges regular 1000 mile service ( yes 1000 ), that the outer drive shaft joints needed immediate refurb or replacement for fear of one imminently “letting go”. I’ve taken a pair of spare driveshafts ( had dragged a complete front sub chassis from Devon in the autumn for spares ) to Gloucester for “servicing”. Turns out this “hardy spicer” joint is different to others ( ofcourse, it’s a Citroen ) and we’ve struggled to get it apart, though we have now sourced the necessary new parts.
On December 20th we got COVID. Quiet Christmas. Recovered from COVID after two weeks. Thankful it wasn’t worse and hopeful of some immunity for a while. Now I’ve got a heavy cold.
Soooooo, have taken decision that old man in old van should not battle the elements in winter and relax that mechanicals will get sorted and consequently we’ll next trade in the spring. Will update you when and where.
Meanwhile, if anyone has any experience of French hardy spicer joints with a hole in the middle containing a mysterious ball, will be thrilled to hear from you! Stay safe and well.
