This is a tribute to Chris Jones, a regular loved customer of feast on Queen Street.
Sadly we heard the news that Chris has lost his battle with cancer at the all too young age of 53.
Obviously we think all our customers are great but Chris was in the executive club and whilst the first rule of the executive club is not to talk about the executive club, I feel that this situation means we have to bend the rules to pay a fitting tribute.
Firstly, and I think we should get this out of the way , he was not all good - he was a Leeds United supporter. As all the management at feast are Manchester United fans he is lucky to even have been served in the first place! But, having concealed this detail until it was too late for us to reject him, it was clear that he was a cut above. Almost without fail and as regular as clockwork we would have the pleasure of serving Chris his daily Latte (in his own reusable cup) and a variety of breakfast options - and it was always a delight to chat the serious or trivialities of the day.
From his courteous manner and the common sense he spoke it was clear that he was a diamond geezer, a great guy, a gentleman, a man who was for “the people”. He had impeccable music taste and a great sense of humour (by chance one of us sat next to him at a Stewart Lee gig!). At times when the business was frantic and stressful, Chris would appear - a reassuring face with some considered words - and immediately puncture the stress bubbles and restore calm.
Chris, we will miss you. We are blessed to have known you and can only draw strength from your character and the bravery you demonstrated during your illness, go well my friend and be assured that if Leeds United get promoted we will raise more than a glass in your honour, and from a bunch of reds, there will be no higher tribute.

Hey You Guys,

Following tonight’s announcement we’re going to be moth balling Queen Street till all this blows over.

Please take care of yourselves in this difficult period and look after anyone who needs a hand.

We’ll still be operating Chapel Walk on a takeaway only basis, if you download the menu and ring ahead we’ll make sure your food and coffees are ready to collect - we can even come and meet you outside Queen Street - we can take card on the go you know.

Hey friends, you know when someone gets a bad break and they don't deserve it, well that happend to a young lad who works for me when some s #*t bag stole his bike 5 days after he bought it. He got it on the cycle-to-work scheme and now has a debt, no bike and no means of getting a replacement.

Not looking to buy him a new bike - he wants to do that - just pay his debt off so he can.

If you think you can help and want support a young lad that's trying to play by the rules in this crazy world than please just give a little. I know there are loads of things that are more important than this but this will make a difference to this crest fallen chap.
