New Year and new opportunities. We are looking to bring in an external commercial operator to run and develop the cafe bar and events spaces here on Glossop Road.

This is an exciting opportunity to introduce fresh energy and ideas to the NN community and we are actively looking for experienced hospitality businesses and/or a 'community sensitive' developer to work with the drive forward the re-opening of all the spaces on this 17000 sq ft site.

Green shoots and new neighbours. We want to welcome our new neighbours and tenants Fern And Aaron otherwise known as to the NN fold. We’ve been fans of their work for a long time and we are super stoked that they have set up their new studio here with us on Glossop Road. Go ahead and check out their art direction, photography and film work if you haven’t come across them before. You are in for a treat.

We are working on plans and quietly rebuilding our creative community here after a tough few months. There’s no denying that many small art, design and creative businesses have taken a big hit - some not to survive at all. We will be sharing our plans to help support our own and the bigger community in the early autumn.

In the mean time if you are looking to get off the kitchen table and into small scale, secure and supported workspace - drop us a line. We are here to help.

A quiet scene on the roads outside our door this morning. This road is usually bumper to bumper from 6:30am... we can’t wait for people to be out and about again but maybe lockdown can help us see a more sustainable and more gentle way to live? We would love to see more space on this road for bikers and walkers. 🚲 ✌️☀️

Such a beautiful day today up on our roof terrace! The mini orchard is in full bloom 💕🌱we can’t wait to be up here again celebrating summer, drinking cocktails and valuing each and every single minute.

It’s so important to take some time outside if you can, keep looking out for yourself and each other Sheffield. 💚

One thing that makes our cafe such a lovely place to be is the sea of green! We are keeping on top of watering our 100’s of plants large and small while we are closed, keeping them fresh and vibrant ready for when we open the doors again.

// Little Updates // Today we’ve been up on the terrace checking the plants and the pots. It’s such a short season for spring blossoms and such a shame no one will get to see our ever growing micro orchard burst into life in person, but we where there today for a short time to capture some blooms to share with you all.

We hope you’re all doing well. In such uncertain times it’s reassuring to know that nature will just carry on.

// SEE YOU SOON // Well that’s the last of the fresh food bagged up for our staff and neighbours. We will be closed now until we are able to welcome you back in...

We don’t know when that will be but we have to say, party politics aside, it was a lot easier saying goodbye to our team today knowing they will still get paid while we are not able to trade. The government has really stepped up here. I know not for everyone, the self employed will be struggling still. But in our case this really has saved jobs and protected families from instant poverty.

Hospitality can be hard work at the best of times and when you live together and work together there really is no escape... So we are taking a few days to take stock, to make plans to see how we can keep the lights on while we try and wait it out, and to take care of ourselves and each other.

We are sending all our love and best wishes to our friends and fellow indies who are also trying to make it through. If you can help them out, maybe buy a voucher or a take out it will make a huge difference.

All our lovely couples booked in for weddings don’t worry we’ve got you. We will be in touch.
