We’re hiring for a Kitchen Manager ☕️❤️

Sadly, our wonderful kitchen manager is off on a new adventure so we’re looking for someone special to join the team starting 17th August.

We’re looking for more than someone who can run a kitchen. We want someone with good energy, a positive attitude, and someone who genuinely enjoys being part of a team. Good vibes are just as important to us as good food, and overall go hand in hand.

This role is perfect for someone who loves being organised, leading by example, and taking pride in serving consistently great food. You’ll have the opportunity to bring ideas to the table, help shape our menu, and play a big part in the future of the business.

Working in an independent business has plenty of rewards, but it also comes with challenges. We all muck in, support one another, and wear a few different hats when needed. We’re looking for someone who understands that and wants to be part of a united team.

It’s a full time position with guaranteed 38 hours a week.

Sooo! 👀
A few weeks ago I couldn’t sleep and had an idea about how to celebrate National Tea Day! I slid into the DM’s of some of my fave indie businesses to see if they could create something gorgeous with one of our teas! I sent them a secret parcel containing their assigned Birdhouse tea, and eagerly awaited to see what was created. I am blown away. We’re so so bloody lucky in Sheff, aren’t we 😭❤️!? Cocktails, cakes, pastries, iced teas, bakes and more heading your way!

✨I’m very excited to announce the SHEFFIELD TEA TRAIL 2026! ✨
How does it work!?
1. Pop to Birdhouse or one of the venues taking part to grab yourself a tea trail card (available from Monday!)
2. Collect tea tokens from each venue you visit during the week
3. Visit 3+ venues, pop your name and email address onto to back of your card
4. Drop it into Birdy and you will be entered into a draw to win a super mega gorgeous delicious hamper! Containing tea and some of the finest treats from our lush city.

It’s free to take part, you get to discover some absolutely amazinggg creations by the best around and we get to give tea the pat on the back it deserves.

Tea trail cards and tea-infused items available across the venues 20th - 26th BUT they’re limited edition and only available while stocks last, so if you see something incredible, I recommend heading there early to grab one 😘❤️

🥒 PICKLE PARTY - 1st APRIL 🥒
We always go all out for April Fools but this year felt a little different.

While we all know this year is most likely to be more lazy AI slop than ever before taking away from the people who actually do an amazing job at creating funny products each year with their own human brains and hands, we thought why not do something real as always, but this time something we can actually serve to you (inspired by the customers who tried to buy the full English cookie sandwich one year and the sunday dinner tea latte the next!)

What started as a joke about pickle juice matcha somehow spiralled into a full pickle takeover menu… and honestly? We regret nothing.

Even better, this isn’t just silly for the sake of it. We’re donating 10% from every pickle menu item to Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity (they’re kind of a big dill to us ❤️ )

April 1st ALL DAY (not just until noon!)
