We're a “proper pub”, just off the beaten track in Sheffield City Centre S1, with a beer garden (well, more of a smoking area tbh), pool table, jukebox and a Rock DJ on Saturday night. We open at 4pm in the week, and 2.30pm on a Saturday, and closing time just depends (but it won't ever be before 11pm in the week or 2am on a weekend).

If you are new to Sheffield, or have recently moved into the city Centre, welcome to the Dove - your friendly local Rock and Alternative Pub :-)

You can pop in for a cuppa and chill, or cheeky mid-week cocktail and game of Guess Who, or start your Big Night Out here with pre-drinks. Or of course make it a Pub Night out with your mates!

We are open from 4pm Tue to Fri, and 2.30pm on Saturdays. Closing times vary according to the night, but weekdays won't ever be earlier than 11, and its 2am on a Friday and Saturday, with the option for us to push it to 3 if we have enough in.

We have a jukebox, which is 4 for a pound or 9 for £2, which takes cash or contactless, and a pool table, which is £1 a game. For Pool, you'll need cash for the table, and a Fiver Cash deposit for the bats, but we can give you cashback if you ask before you pay for your drinks, and have your actual card with you.

If you are a student at Uni of or Hallam, their Rock Societies, and Hallam Goth Society all have Events planned, so keep an eye on their Socials. EVERYONE is welcome, wherever you are studying, and student or not - new faces are always welcome and our Regulars are a friendly bunch, so even if you pop in on your own, you are more than likely to make new friends (whether you want to or not!)...

If you are just moving into a new flat and would like some pint glasses for your kitchen cupboard, we have LOADS you can chose from - please just make sure you take the ones we have spare and no longer use, rather than the ones we are serving your drinks in!

On weekdays, there'll be a box of free glasses to help yourselves from, but if it's already been emptied, or you want something different, please just ask at the bar and we'll see what we can do :-)

Probably best to do when you are heading straight home after the Dove...

Hartshead Square (S1 2FD if you want to google-maps it - yay I invented another verb) is barely recognisable these days, but that's where you'll find us. The Dove and Rainbow, or just "the Dove" for short. Hidden away behind the Bankers Draft, down the Alley next to Ten Pin, or the one next to the Peri Chicken Place (opposite Liddle) off High Street.

We're Sheffield's Friendly Rock and Alternative Pub, and everyone is welcome - you don't even have to especially like Rock (as long as you can tolerate the jukebox!). We have a Pool table, which you'll need cash for, although you can get cashback if you have your actual card with you and ask BEFORE paying for your drinks, a popular Smoking Area out the back, and Rock/Alternative DJ on a Saturday Night.

On a Friday and Saturday we are open til 2, and can push it to 3 if there's enough in, and Tue to Thursday we'll close by default at 11, but again if there's enough in, we're happy to go later (1am is not unheard of), but in general its best to be in earlier so you don't turn up too late and find we've gone to bed and you've missed the Party.

New faces are potential Regulars of the future and are always welcome :-)

If you are new to Sheffield, or have somehow just missed us, we're the Dove and Rainbow, known affectionately as the Dove. Hidden away behind Spoons at Castle Square, we're Sheffield's friendly Rock and Alternative Pub, and have our 20th Birthday coming up in November :-)

We're not a "late bar" during the week, but if we've got people in, we might well be open late (1 or 2am isn't unheard of)! If the doors are open, you are very welcome to join us, but turning up after 11pm risks finding us closed and gone to bed...

Fridays and Saturdays are usually a 2am finish, but we can (and do) go an extra hour if we have people in late. But again, don't turn up too late and miss the Party!

The diary is well and truly open for mid-week bookings for any groups, societies, clubs, gatherings etc (not just students - everyone welcome) who would like somewhere to meet, and either just have a Social, or use for games, crafting etc.

It's completely free to book, and we just ask that you buy drinks at the bar. Just have a chat at the bar or send us a message, and we'll happily check for availability

HRH Sleaze - you were amazing, and it was sooo good to have you all back in Sheffield! Next week it's the turn of HRH Blues, and we'll do it all over again with a different crowd. Once again we'll also open on the Sunday (usually our day off) from 10.30pm for anyone wanting end of the weekend drinks after the Event itself finishes.

And thank you so much to our wonderful Bar Team, who did an amazing job of keeping you all cheerfully supplied with beverages, despite you all turning up in large numbers at the same time :-)

Its sooo good to see all our Out-of-town Friends and Regulars again, and we'll be doing it all again tonight! Open til 3am, and as always, you are welcome to bring / order food in with you if you need a bit of a sit down and time to re-fuel during the day.

Sundays are usually for sleeping, but you asked and we will deliver. Open from 10.30pm on Sunday (sorry, it's everyone's day off, so we can't manage all day, but we know you want somewhere to finish the weekend off in style). This one is not a Private Party, so all welcome if you are out and about in town and fancy a Sunday Night Sleaze Party! Licensed 'til 2 on a Sunday...
